Here we are but a couple of weeks until opening day. Drove by the stadium parking and wow…there is a ton to do before anyone can park there. Huge piles of dirt. Lots of leveling to be done. They need to hope for typical dry August weather and a company that goes overtime.

Did you drive around the entire area to see that the actual parking lots are nearly complete?
This pic looks like it is only showing the CyTown area and not parking lots.

A3 and B3 are really the two that are left to complete. B3 just had asphalt put down yesterday and A3 has curb and gutter so asphalt is not far behind.

There will be a lot of finishing work completed over the next 13 days but based on their progress, it’s not time to panic or email Jamie…

Dry weather would be good, but they can pretty easily put down 3000 tons a day. It will be ready for gameday

Regardless, they are cutting it close. Not allowing any time for unforseen delays.

I've driven past the lots several times this summer and noticed there didn't seem to be much sense of urgency, but I admit I know nothing about building parking lots.

They are cutting it close, but the company doing the asphalt will be subjected to HUGE fines if it is not ready for Week 1

You can put asphalt down Friday and park Saturday. There is literally nothing to be concerned about.

It was also REALLY wet this spring so that delays everything.

You forgot the painting step.

Then I imagine they'll wait until 6:30am on August 31st to do that.

The paint is not a problem either. You could do that overnight if you had to. Would cost an arm and a leg but it wouldn't be the first parking lot I've seen stenciled in truck lights or parking lot lights.

With perpendicular parking you can do it REALLY quickly. You just do all the lines one direction and then the perpendiculars after when the first spray is dry. The numbers aren't necessary and could easily be done after the fact. One guy does all stuff too close to curbs and then someone on a spray cart flies through the rest.
