Did you drive around the entire area to see that the actual parking lots are nearly complete?
This pic looks like it is only showing the CyTown area and not parking lots.

A3 and B3 are really the two that are left to complete. B3 just had asphalt put down yesterday and A3 has curb and gutter so asphalt is not far behind.

There will be a lot of finishing work completed over the next 13 days but based on their progress, it’s not time to panic or email Jamie…
This.

I’m not sure what they’re planning on for the future CyTown center strip, but at the rate they’re going, the lots and lighting will be done by midweek.

That leaves a whole week for sodding and landscaping—plus whatever they want to do to keep drunk tailgaters from sliding down massive piles of whatever that is.

Because you know you would!

Then I imagine they'll wait until 6:30am on August 31st to do that.
The ROTC workers will wait til 6:28 to start putting up the barriers and delay entering. Last year was frustrating getting there at 545 and not getting to a spot til 7. Petty I know but the time messaged for lots opening should be the time they open

Regardless, they are cutting it close. Not allowing any time for unforseen delays.

I've driven past the lots several times this summer and noticed there didn't seem to be much sense of urgency, but I admit I know nothing about building parking lots.

I’m guessing a lot of the “unforeseen delays” happened earlier in the process with the earlier weather and has made bit as close as it is.

It will be fine.

I was up there today dropping my son off at Freddy Court. Looked at the lots, still a lot to do but I am sure it gets done. New tunnel between Hilton and Trice lots still needs poured and landscaped as does the new acces road to A3 Looks like A3, A4 and C5 are still not done. Will be a busy 2 weeks for them. Also the road between Hilton and Trice lots is partially missing at the moment so that access to lots I hope gets done.

Can be amazing how fast crews can get work done when there's a deadline coming up.

I swear work was crawling on the widening of 69 between I-80 and Ankeny (a project that was originally supposed to take one year that took 3) until they started to run up against RAGBRAI needing to come down that road then they got a fire lit under them and progress was flying towards the end

My parking space may not be asphalted or striped, but it is landscaped with mature trees, grass, and a gravel path to my parking spot, so I’m not too worried, plus usually able to get out after games and home in less than 30 minutes.

Wet weather has its pros and cons. Great for growing conditions not too good for grading, concrete, or parking lot/road construction.
