If he's healthy the Chiefs become instant contenders if they can sign him. They nearly made the playoffs this season without some of their top players (Charles, Berry, Moeaki, and Cassel out half the year too.) Chiefs have drafted well lately, if they can shore up the O-line some more they already have a tough defense and the WR core was much improved last year with the additions of Breaston and Baldwin.

As a Colts fan I will be shocked if they get back to the playoffs within the next 5 seasons. Gone are the people who drafted guys like Peyton, Dallas, Reggie, Edgerrin, etc. The last few drafts have just not been good to the Colts, and while the Polians are gone, it all starts at the top. I will be surprised if their drafts get any better with a new GM.

The geniuses that drafted Peyton, Dallas, Reggie and Edge were the same dopes who drafted so poorly in the early rounds the last couple years - the Polians. If Andrew Luck is the real deal, they'll be back as a playoff contender within five seasons. The new GM is maybe a bit camera shy but he's respected around the league as a talent evaluater. He'll draft just fine.

If i was him, i hang it up and pursue other things or get into coaching.

Since it sounds like he is going to play again, I think Baltimore should make a run for him and would make the most sense. Ray Lewis and Ed Reed have 1 or 2 more years in them (probably the same as Peyton), the Ravens were just a dropped pass from being the super bowl this year and probably had the best team. Flacco only has 1 more year left on his contract, keep him for insurance purposes if Peyton gets hurt again - but take a shot at Manning and winning the superbowl.

Ravens defense, Ray Rice running the ball and Manning as the QB...........sounds pretty good.

Time for the Chiefs to sign him!

Going by past history, it wouldn't surpise me to see him in Minnesota. Even with ownership changes, coaching changes over the years, one thing you seem to be able to count on with the Vikings is an old, washed up QB running the Offense.

Peyton Manning is old and washed up?

Maybe Old and Washed up was a bit harsh, bu he's definitely not what he was when he came into the league. And injury that keeps you out an entire season, does not bode well for longevity in the league. I don't think he is "Old and Washed up" Compared to some, but I'll be really surprised if he ever playes the way he once did again.

There is a reason the Colts chose to release him and it isn't because they thought he'd be too good to play in their system.

I suppose nobody knows what he'll be like next year, but before the injury I'd say he was much better than when he came into the league.

Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning part ways after 14 seasons - ESPN

It's official now. Sad day for Colts fans. I wonder who'll follow Manning out the door. Indy is in salary cap hell, and it wouldn't shock me if Freeney, Clark, Garcon, Wayne, Saturday, Brackett and Addai are all playing in different uniforms next season. For you Colts fans who thought the team bottomed out at 2-14, let me warn you. This might get worse before it gets better. They're going to be young, inexperienced and thin at virtually every position.
