Philbert suspended for tomorrow

Just guessing, but I doubt it was showing up to class late. That would be handled in other ways unless it is habitual. My guess would be a poor verbal decision, cheating or something worse.

There was a post somewhere where he reportedly "went off" on an academic advisor and maybe told a freshman OL to tell the coaches he wasn't going to practice and that he would play anyway.

NONE OF THAT IS VERIFIED AND IT IS ALL RUMOR but that was one snippet posted by 1 poster who may or most likely may NOT have direct knowledge of the event or events.

OK, so a few of you actually know what happened. Can someone who know be less vague than "being disrespectful to someone in academics?" This could be anything from showing up for class late (Campbell has a rule about being early to class) to cursing at an academic tutor.
Your second guess is a good start

Whats with all the suspensions?

Well, Good-Jones failed a drug test, so he deserved to be suspended. Philbert acted like a complete idiot and effectively challenged the staff to do anything about it. Tribune had quite the sour attitude because he was real close to Paul. Don't want to buy in and put in the time, don't play.

Suspension hurt now but pay off in the end.

It still hurts to see two Cyclones who were let go for being idiots in Cowboys camp / roster. Whatever his faults, Paul was willing to do the right thing as well.

Well, if any of that is true then he has not listened/believed what CMC and staff is telling them. I guarantee CMC would sit his own mother if she broke the rules and a suspension was warranted. Anyone who thinks they are more important than the team as a whole is sadly mistaken. I thought Toledo was in rough shape when most of this staff arrived.....wow.

Some of these players should see what it's like to play for Nick Saban or Urban..they wouldn't see field again..CMC is putting hammer down and I'm glad..you can't have your first year in a program and let any player dictate anything no matter who they are...ever.

Idk I actually thought Seda did ok today at guard..wasn't terrible.

Someone thought in another thread to moving Fett to tackle, and Filbert to guard. Wouldn't be the worst move in the world.

I have never thought JP had that great of footwork, balance and quickness. Don't think he would be effective pulling.
