I may owe mess a bit of an apology. That was a pretty well called game last night, and he actually stuck with the run when it was working. If he can do it against a real team this year, I will withdraw my prior comments, he does look better with a real qb.

Well said. Bottom line is that every coach looks smarter when they have better players, players that execute, and things are going their way. Calling plays when you have 2nd and 5 instead of 2nd and 12 is always easier as well. Let's hope that Sam can continue to play at this level. Love what I saw last night, but I think we need to be patient and be prepared for some freshman mistakes in the next 2 games. One thing is for sure, the off-season speculation will be entirely different this year. #proud #cyclONEnation
I'll eat crow too. I've been highly critical of Mess this year, but last night might have been the best proof all year that poor QB play dooms this offense.

He calls plays differently when we make plays. Today, I don't believe he's the problem. I can admit that.
I will eat crow too. Was really scared of this game. I knew our team had the talent to win, just knew KU played their opponents tough at home. That crow tastes really good today though and glad our team blew them out the water. No point in that was I worried. Let's get to be 7-5 and enjoy a nice vacation some place warm!

i'll take that. i was fairly certain we would lose this game. people always talk about taking the next step and turning the corner. beating the teams you should beat is part of that. yesterday we beat a team that we should beat.
