Nerdist is pretty good, The Verticle podcasts are solid as well.
CrimeTown, just came out and it is a really, really good crime podcast. It is from the creators of "The Jinx" on HBO, and they do a terrific job of going into deep-detail to bring out amazing facts, the first season is based solely on Providence, RI and the mobs who have ran that town for years. Only 1 season is out, but I think it is one of the best podcasts' to come out this year.
Description: “Welcome to Crimetown, a new series from Gimlet Media and the creators of HBO’s ‘The Jinx.’ Every season, we’ll investigate the culture of crime in a different American city. First up: Providence, Rhode Island, where organized crime and corruption infected every aspect of public life. This is a story of alliances and betrayals, of heists and stings, of crooked cops and honest mobsters — a story where it’s hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. Hosted by Marc Smerling and Zac Stuart-Pontier.”
I have also started to listen to Pardon My Take, because as much as I like sports sometimes hearing the satirical side of sports is fun for me as well. You have to take the hosts with a grain of salt at first, because their personas come off a bit brash at first, but once you realize they are being comical and everything they say isn't their actual opinions, it has become one of the funniest podcasts I listen to throughout the week. They are getting increasingly better guest as their popularity grows and I find the more serious interviews they do are some of the better ones. Not for everyone but I'd recommend people to at least give it a try.
