I'm in the middle.

The game is fun in that it seems the whole state gets involved so that's a very cool aspect of it. I also would think the schools would have a hard time passing it up with the type of crowd interest and (I would think revenue) it generates over that weekend.

But, it's generally irrelevant and ISU playing some other midwestern teams would be interesting.

It was exciting at first when Mac 'broke through' but when I really think of it there's only a handful of actual memorable moments/games and it only escalates Hawkdom's belligerence.

Would suck for Iowa fans--they'd only have their bowl game to point to as the worst performance of the year.

I also can't take anything from something like HN seriously....the times I peaked there it was the fortress of Hawkdom. I'll also echo others in that I don't recall Hawkdom calling for the game to be stopped during the Fry years. Maybe he did his first few seasons when he got beat by ISU and made it a point to beat them thereafter.

I voted to keep it. It's our only trophy game. And no other P5 opponent gives us that combination of chance to win, fan excitement, and tailgating debauchery.

Keep UNI and Iowa on the schedule. Good for the state and with Campbell momentum, it will be two Ws more times than not.

You guys need to make some UT or more big12 friends from other schools...you get plenty of crap talk the rest of the year that way...cancel the Iowa game. Those tools can suck it.

Eh. It's a toss up, the bragging rights are nice when we win and it's good for the state. Scheduling three easy wins nonconference to pad the win column would be more beneficial to Iowa State though. We never get a cake walk schedule like Iowa gets every year making the nation believe they are better than they actually are because all they see is the win column.

But hey if Campbell builds Iowa State like it appears he is, and sticks around... we might be beating Iowa even more often anyways. Which probably also plays a role in why they want to drop the game. They see the storm brewing #RaiseTheStanderd

UNI should for sure be dropped. And stop scheduling schools like NDSU. I swear the athletics department wants to make it impossible for a bowl game.

Maybe get good and win games first, before making it harder on ourselves.

Screw Iowa. I could care less about "helping the state". Every man for himself, U of Iowa would gladly let us go to the mac when the big 12 was on the brink of failing.
How does it help the state? I think the state would be happy with a Saturday where Iowa plays Western Michigan in IC and ISU plays Toledo in Ames...

I would be fine with two on, two off. Torn between not playing them any more so they lose their ISU excuse, or wanting to play them every year just because they don't want to.

ISU losing most years in Fball has been far more detrimental than Iowa losing to ISU in bball most years..there are 30 bball games..only 12 fball games..So they can complain about playing ISU in fball all they want but reality is that it fills the stands...every single year..and therefore will not be eliminated. Its about $$..I could care less about playing Iowa in either sport..just as Iowa fans feel that playing ISU in fball is a lose/lose..Well we feel exact same way in bball.

I'm guessing that right now Iowa fans feel this way because they know darn well what is coming with CMC program. The tide is about to turn..bit time.

In years past I'd agree with you but now I really do think the B1G scheduling requirements will make UI end or modify the series. The fear of losing the game will outweigh the every-other-year payday.

I don't really care if we play them or not, so I voted to end it because it makes most of the fans on both sides nearly unbearable, and the absolute hatred for one another isn't healthy at all IMO.

I swear a majority of Hawk fans and Cyclone fans wouldn't care one bit if the other school ceased to exist tomorrow.

And when we play one another, Hawk fans are the most annoying fanbase to have to deal with on game day, and I'm positive Hawk fans feel the same way about us. Back in the day, I found Nebraska fans pretty annoying, but nothing like Hawk fans. I just don't really enjoy the gameday experience at all when we play Iowa.

Hopefully the Big 12 will make that decision for us...
