Poll: What's our record after game 3?

I actually think this will be a low scoring game this year. Other than Fant, nothing about Iowa's offense scares me going against the strength of our team. Will our offense be able to move the ball is the question.

This is my fear. We don't have a proven kicker. Last year we could count on anything inside the 30 being at least a FG. The article CW wrote yesterday made it sound like the freshmen (who will be playing his first away game in a hostile environment) might be struggling. Small things matter, and coming away with points in a close game can be the difference in winning/losing this game.

That said, I say we go 2-1. Oklahoma will be coming to Ames with the power of all that is Barry Switzer up I-35 and want to prove a point after last years loss.

1-2.

Pound on SDSU pretty good. 42-14 or so.

I think it'll take 35 to beat Iowa and I don't think the offense will be able to do that. Iowa by a TD.

Hang around with Oklahoma again but we falter down the stretch and lose by a FG.

Crush Akron the next week after getting "humbled."

Lose by a TD at TCU. Fans start calling for Campbell's head.

Lose another heartbreaker at Oklahoma State. Fans start saying Campbell has lost the team.

Run the table to finish 8-4.

I only disagreed with this when you were saying fans calling for Campbell's head. It is a going to take multiple bad showings before he remotely starts to lose the fan base. TCU 2016 was the last bad game that I can think was on coaching.

OU will come to Ames ready to play.

I once heard an interview with one of the Vegas point spread gurus. He said the "revenge factor" is very real when determining spread. If a team suffers a beatdown they will perform better next time they play that team. That is of course only if talent level is close.

You give the morons in this fanbase far too much credit. If we lose in Iowa City there will be idiots calling for his head.

I actually think this exact scenario plays out, but I think they go 4-2 to end at 6-6.

I can see dropping the Iowa game and then coming out swinging vs. OU.

Since we at ISU are the CHOKE eyes Super Bowl .....they will figure out a way to win in kinnick.......the only thing I hate worse than playing the chokes is losing to them all the time....I was in Kinnick for the 12-10 Loss....enough said.

In past years, you would have to be realistic and say likely 1-2, just because we would be going against two more historically established programs in weeks 2 and 3. In year 3 of Campbell all of that is out the window. I really have no idea. Anything is possible now... and that is what's going to make this season so great. We might stumble here and there, but every game projects to be competitive.

Exactly. Plus Iowa will be ready for us as always. On top of that it will probably be the only kickoff time they have later than 11 am all year and likely their only sellout as well.

The best part is that we have a response for the morons. All you have to say is "who could do a better job?" There hasn't been a coach that is a more perfect fit for ISU.

But I agree there are morons that would call for his head.

I feel like I need to wait and see how our offensive line performs against SDSU week one. If we can't handle their DL to the tune of at least 150 on the ground, we sure won't do it against Iowa or Oklahoma and that will spell defeat.
