Speaking of Pollard and Rhoads - why doesn't the question ever arise as to why those two live (or at least kids attend schools) in Gilbert instead of Ames? Or, are we not suppose to ask?
They live in the Gilbert School District.

Why is this important? Why does anyone care?

Gilbert school district comes into Ames. Basically everyone who lives north of Bloomington Rd is in Gilbert schools.

This question comes up too often.

There are dozens, if not hundreds of kids in the Gilbert zone who go to Ames High. I'm sure the Pollards and Hoibergs have neighbors that go to Ames, just as kids who live in Ames open enroll at Gilbert. It's not uncommon.

Why hasn't anyone asked if they prefer paper or plastic? Crinkle or fold?

Why would it arise?

What gets people fired is a lack of season ticket sales. Crowds are generally smaller as the season gets colder. We will probably get a decent crowd for Texas Tech. Probably not a big crowd for the November 29th game. Students home for Thanksgiving and cold weather.
Losing is really what triggers the firings. Something we are getting very good at.

They're pretty much done anyway. This is the first year that students just won't talk football. We're quickly losing the next wave of alumni fans.

Disagree with your assessment. Lack of students at the last 2 games has more to do with cold weather and Thanksgiving break.

Good riddance to all who are that fickle. They are not really true fans. They can find another bandwagon to hop on.
I say to any Iowa State coach, including Hoiberg, IF you have a chance to leave Iowa State for a greater gig. Do it. The fans, like CycloneErik, will turn on you the moment the program takes a step backward. There is no loyalty amongst them and they will not tolerate setbacks within the program. There is no loyalty and support is fickle. Go while you can.

You kidding, man? Everyone is acting like this is the worst 2 year stretch in Iowa State football history. Student support is still MUCH better than it was before '09.
