I dont want jamie to go because he's done so much good overall.

But its clear he sticks by his hires a bit too much. He wouldntve canned McD that season if Creighton hadnt taken him, and he's sticking by Rhoads.

His sticking to hires all has to do with the contracts he signed. Previously McDermott, then Rhoads, and now Hoiberg with the biggest of all.

And it's just as much our fault as it is Pollard's. Well, except McDermott. I have no idea what the point of that contract was.

Jamie Pollard signed the 10 year contract. Sorry, he can't just decide to not be loyal now unless there is a slush fund we don't know about. The career move that could backfire was made back in 2011 when he signed the contract.

If there is $5 million to pay Rhoads off, then he didn't need to sign the 10 year contract.

Ultimately thats still irrelevant as has been explained here many times.

If we fire him next year, it'll still be ~4mil (and 3 mil the year after, etc). If you believe that is inevitable, as many do, the real cost to making that decision this year is the difference between this year and next year's numbers, so a difference of about $1mil. And when you consider the potential costs of *not* making the move, including loss of donations, ticket sales, long-term damage to the program from being on the wrong track... the equation starts to work in favor of making the decision now.

If you are not going to fire CPR, which due to the contract we can't, you come on strong with support. Besides the OK St AD with Ford, ADs typically are in propaganda mode until the very end.

Plus, we all know JP will not willingly fire CPR. The bean counters will need to force him to, which will probably mean another couple years.

JP shouldn't hitch his wagon to Rhoads. Unless he enjoys falling down the mountain. But then again... Have we reached the bottom of the mountain?

Good, at least someone has some sense. I'm glad most posters on here are not the AD or we'd have a completely new coaching staff every year.

I thought everyone knew he'd be back. I guess I haven't been an ISU football fan all that long but I don't really see how one more year could so negatively affect our losing tradition of old.

Legitimate question to all of the die hard CPR supporters:

How are you honestly going to feel about your coach if the team loses to UNI at the start of 2015???

Curious to see these replies...

I'm still hanging on by a thread. I want CPR to succeed here... I don't want to start over. If he loses to UNI, I'll be 100% off the bandwagon. Honestly, if he doesn't start the season winning 3 or 4 of the first 5, I'll be done.

I know that argument has been "explained" many times here, but I'm not sure we have $4 million to spend next year. That is 25% of our football budget in a year. Sure, the balance sheet might start to tip in that favor next year IF all these people who claim to stop buying tickets and donating actually do. But after the core season ticket holders, we aren't really charging much to get in to a game as it is.

$4 million = 16,000 full priced season ticket holders. Start counting.

Plus, don't you have a request in for Jamie Pollard to cancel the @ Toledo game and find a home opponent? Add another $1.5 mil to the other side of the balance sheet.

Staff Changes + Recruiting Improvement + Home Schedule + SEC = Saves His ***

Looks like you will be done then. What honestly leads you to believe that won't happen?

I got news for you. ISU isn't winning 3-4 games next season.

I agree 100% with Jamie. Patience everyone. Patience. Let's stick with a coach who truly loves ISU. Good things are ahead...
I don't care if he truly loves Iowa state. If he can't win games and keep recruits he has no business being here.

If Paul stays, then he will let Wally go. Someone has to take the fall for two wins in sixth season.

How about the Marshall DC? Wait. His team gave up a ton of points last week.

UNI DC is doing good. Wait. That is an instate school rival that beats us.

How about Sage? Wait. He does the qb.

Then how about the NDSU DC? Wait. That is groveling. Maybe we need to grovel.

can you just not post anymore?
