good stuff Chris. Disappointed that you didn't ask more hard hitting stuff, like his opinion on the authenticity of Hy-Vee Chinese food, but other than that it was really good.

Jaime Pollard said:
“There was no truth to that at all,” Pollard said. “I have my theory on why and how that got out. That doesn’t matter because I am past it. But it was frustrating because that impacted him. That impacted me. That impacted our players. That impacted candidates and that is really unfortunate. It was total garbage. Whoever planted that had an agenda and that is for their life to live.”

Not sure why you couldn't ask him the current inflation value of the Chizik coin...but whatever.

Another great piece from CW. My favorite part was where he talked about the search firm. Never realized the amount of logistics, coordination, secrecy, and staffing it would take up to do it in such a short amount of time, but it makes sense now that he talked about it.

Interesting that iSu gave the search firm 20 candidates and told them to do the research

That's why you pay them, though. They do background checks, talk to agents, and all the stuff that would be way too time consuming for our athletic department to do. And they do it faster and more efficiently to boot. It's what they do.

I wonder if Pollard is talking about Romar's comments or someone else?

I wonder if Pollard is talking about Romar's comments or someone else?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about whoever talked to Jon Rothstein for this piece:

As we reported on Friday, Iowa State assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger has a "full support" of Cyclones' athletic director Jamie Pollard, but several other sources said school president Dr. Steven Leath wants to hire a "brand name" for the position.
"He feels the level of the job has changed since Fred got here," one source said of Leath. "He wants to bring in someone with some pedigree. It's a battle of wills right now."

So Fred was 99% sure he was leaving... except if the Bulls made it the finals. His first choice for a replacement was Prohm. Yet he still brought TJ back? Either TJ actually does just want to be here as either HC OR AC or he got done dirty by Fred.

Fred was going to the Bulls no matter what happened in the playoffs. Thibs was gone even if he won a title

Which is certainly Matt Abdelmasseigh. Matt and Jon are good buddies, which is why Jon has drooled over Iowa State for the last 4 years. Not sure why Matt had an agenda, but it seems pretty clear he is the one who fed that information to Rothstein.

I do think that the source would be someone who wanted TJ to get the job. Could certainly be Matt. But I don't see why it's pretty clear that it has to be Matt A.

It's fascinating really. I'd love to work for a firm like the one they used in Atlanta. The logistics is like clockwork.
