The original plan with Mays this year was to redshirt her since she needed time to develop. However, since there were early season injuries to Anna and Z, she had to play.
As for Moody - this is from the Five Days article:

If anyone read the Mechelle Voepel article/watched the interview with Deb after the Missouri game, it mentioned BF hit bottom right after the New Year, thought it was interesting.
