Does he have the handle to be a Big 12 guard in 2013?

Im guessing he will be a 3 here with his size which i consider a "Guard" because he will be playing on the perimeter and not in the paint. Okoro should redshirt next year IMO because there will be no minutes for him but i know most of the people on this board dont like the idea of redshirting basketball players for some reason.

I consider him a small forward/wing and he should get good minutes that year Nevertheless, I do not see him filling the voids left with the departure of Lucious, McGee, Babb, and Clyburn, hence his exclusion in the earlier post.

I get what your saying. I could see Okoro taking Babbs role that year as the defensive stopper but at this point Okoro is not really a scorer and cant shoot so he wont take over the scoring duties that those 4 will have. Especially Clyburn.

He's not a shooter, but that doesn't mean he won't be able to score. He may be the scrappy type of 3 like Kenny Pratt, who maybe isn't a great shooter, but can drive and score garbage buckets in the paint. I haven't really seen him play, but he's been described as as scrappy, NY type player.

Okoro has been described as very athletic, a slasher, and defensively focused. According to his coach today, he leads the team in blocks.

While he may never be a sharpshooter, I'm guessing that Hoiberg will get him to develop some semblance of a jimmy.

I'll go with:

Terrence Samuel
Matt Thomas
Jaylon Brantley/Monte Morris
Kyle Washington

This would be a great recruiting class to help keep Fred's momentum going. It seems pretty realistic too. What do you guys think?

That's exactly how Ejim was described coming in.

Ejim is a couple of inches taller but that is a pretty interesting comparison.

We need 3 pt shooters for the future bad. SDW is the only one we will have after next year.
We need a PG that can drive /create and hit the 3 and we need Matt Thomas bad.
Sledge is not a 3pt shooter.

SDW and Naz Long have very good 3-pt shooting ability. I also believe that Niang can hit from out there.

Hard to tell what sort of competition that Naz Long has been playing against, but he's had some big games, including 3 pt shooting in his season at St. Martin this winter. It's possible he'll be a decent shot.

Really hard to say right now, but Fred was able to put a great team together from scratch quickly, so if this team continues to achieve like it has, and next year's team does the same, I don't think there is a recruit anywhere that won't at least return Freddie's call.

I absolutely love the first line of ESPN's assessment of Okoro- "Guys don't have the motor that this kid does.". That is awesome.
