A persistent mound of heated air is predicted to envelope a large portion of the U.S. by July 18 with Iowa near the center of it: https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/t...thin-a-week/ar-BB16AAfa?ocid=msedgntp#image=1

It is supposed to be a bit unusual even for the jaded. You do know heat waves kill more people than most any other weather extremes in cities.

This is a great point. So many people without jobs, money, and access to air conditioning in this country. This is not good.

Let it go dormant. Will pop right back with rain and cooler temps.

My understanding was a brown lawn equals dormant and when it starts to turn closer to white it's in danger of actually dying, or at least serious damage. Is that accurate?

Because I'm well into brown, careening quickly toward white.
