Yeah, it looks like it. Point taken. They were lucky to escape that game with a win.

I'm not saying TCU is properly ranked, but I've really hated playing them lately.
Oh I wasn't trying to make a point I was genuinely asking because I didn't know lol.

Got a guy from Iowa who played very well. had 18 i think
Touissant? Good luck with that, hes a tough player and plays solid D.

The problem is he'll dribble off his foot or just fall down with the ball 4 or 5 times a game. He also has a range from point-blank to about 3 feet from the hoop. Not good when you are that small and struggle to finish around the rim.

Surly, do you think Poon will turn KSU into a better program than Cryin’ Bruce Weber?
Did you misspell Tang? I get it. Cute. But not original.

Yes, coach Tang is going to shape K-State basketball into Baylor 2.0. He's recruiting the same type athletes. He's redshirting three of them already this year. He'll play old. They run a spread, guard-oriented offense. They defend, rebound and run the court. They will not finish where forecast in the preseason poll - last. No way.

Coach Weber was a fine coach. Won two B12 championships after all. But his recruiting had turned sour, as he just didn't relate well to today's youngsters. It was time.

I may need help filling in the blanks. Most recently I had heard, Tang was struggling to hand out all his scholarships. Now they are decent, and even found a way to redshirt 3 guys?

Toussaint kind of sucks, but he'll fit in well in Huggins system. Huggins just needs one scorer, a couple shooters, and 7-8 guys who just run around and give 2-3 hard fouls per game.

Still early so this will definitely change but here is my rankings. I haven't watched every game so obviously take with a grain of salt. Separated into tiers as well.

Top Tier
1.Baylor
2. Kansas

Middle Tier
3. Texas
4.Tech

Will Be Interesting to see Tier
5. WVU (P5 win)
6. K-State (P5 Win)
7. ISU (did what they needed but haven't played anyone)
8. TCU (I THINK that they will end up much higher but 2 bad games for a team that returned a bunch is concerning)
9. Ok State (not a terrible loss but not a good loss)
10. OU (bad loss, almost put on a separate tier because I think they will finish last but don't want to overreact)

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Tang is using KSU as a stepping stone in his coaching career.

The cynic in me tends to agree with this, but it's hard to tell what he'll do. A quick search says that he was Born in Trinidad and Tobago, went to North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, coached in Cleveland, TX, Baylor and now K-State.

He doesn't have any allegiance to KState outside of it being his first P5 head coaching gig, but he also doesn't have that easy-to-define "dream job at his alma mater" to pull him away.

If he were to have enough success to be enticing to other schools, it would probably either be a blue blood or SEC school opening the checkbook for their basketball program. Could be at age 56 he's just happy to have a head coaching gig at this level and makes it his last stop. He's 4 years older than Scott Drew, so a return to Baylor to fill a vacancy doesn't seem likely, unless Drew were to retire early or something.

TxT has a whole bunch of new dudes.
We are going to have to get used to this happening. Adams is going to make sure he has talent but also that he is bringing in experience as fast as he is losing it. Their roster is going to look as different from year to year as anyone's.

Watching the champions classic games last night, Grady **** is a stud on the offensive end. I think he is one and done. Adding McCullar to that team gives them maybe the best defensive backcourt in the country when paired with Harris. Both get a ton of steals and McCullar makes some aboslutely ridiculous defensive plays. Looks to me like it will be Baylor and KU fighting for the top spot. Both should be top ten teams pretty much all year.
Watching some of Baylor this season their three guards are going to give everyone fits. Best guard trio in the nation. Keyonte George is the real deal. I think their interior will be an issue though until they get their other big back from injury. It is Thamba and then not much behind him. They also don't appear to be that deep.

Texas looks pretty much the same to me as last year. They will be very good at times and look like one of the best teams in the country but when their shots aren't falling from 3 they will look just ok.

Tech is good but I think they are even a step behind Texas.

After watching K-State play a few games, I'm here to tell you they don't finish in the cellar. Willing to take all bets today, gentlemen.

Eh, they’ll be a bottom dweller.

Beating two bad teams changes nothing.

How did KU look against Duke?

After the endless MSU/UK game I just went to bed.
Their defense was really good, blocking shots, deflections, steals, they had some sloppy turnovers in the first half otherwise they would have been up double digits. Their young bigs are athletic but still a work in progress. Jalen Wilson looks like he will contend for first team all american honors if he keeps playing the way he is playing. He had like 25 and 10 last night. Both teams couldn't hit a three most of the game but I wonder if part of it was they had to wait so long to play. Their biggest weakness right now is when they have Adams at the 5 they were giving up offensive rebounds, but part of that is Duke is so huge. I mean they start two basically 7 footers and then have 6'8 Mark Mitchell at the 3. And bring in 7'1 Lively off the bench.

I was surprised when TT didn’t miss a beat when their coach left for Austin & Adams was promoted from within. Why has Tech become consistently a solid program? Bobby Knight made somewhat of a splash but they recruit very well in the past decade to a pretty dismal location in my view. Was Adams the main recruiter all along?

KU had some very good defensive moments last night, including a couple highlight worthy block reels. I was super impressed with their freshman Gradey D1ck (his name is getting blocked lol), he looked very poised and made some athletic plays. I'm going to hate them again here in about 35 days but glad to see KU take down a top ACC team.
