You must have missed the meaning of aviation's equivalent

Nope, didn't miss it at all. I think it's a ridiculous headline. Any one who really wants to can go see a P40 in the same state it was used in WWII. They aren't one of a kind. Hell, watch the movie 1941, go build a Monogram kit. Before King Tut's tomb was found no one was exactly sure what was contained in them. No one had ever seen anything like it before.

It's an awesome find, but it isn't going to change the world of aviation at all other than there is another frame to restore now.

Your concerns about this headline have been duly noted, and have now been entered into the permanent record.

You and I are very much alike. Archeology is our religion, yet we have both fallen from the pure faith. Our methods have not differed as much as you pretend. I am but a shadowy reflection of you. It would take only a nudge to make you like me. To push you out of the light.

The other articles linked through those pages about Spitfires are really interesting too.

I'm curious to know exactly where in the desert this was found.

I heard they pinpointed the location using this:

But even so, they had to stop in Hamunaptra to ask directions.
