If he’s truly sorry, he would email Coach Prohm directly and apologize. He may have done this, but calling into Soundoff doesn’t move the needle for me.
Nothing about this moves the needle, although I realize discussing this type of stuff comes with the territory of seasons that collapse. The players aren’t as fragile as the meltdown-over-criticism crowd here.

Yeah, I doubt SP and the players are dwelling on this.

Not melting down over this. Just disappointed in one of our fans - we're better than that.

Agreed. I think it probably upset Prohm in the moment more than it did any of the players. I'm glad he stood up for them, but I'm guessing that by now the team has moved well past it if it ever even bothered them that much in the first place.

Can't disagree with this...I'm just saying that it's not like FH was always just throwing out crazy sets for automatic points or that his were always working or not stagnant.

Having a guy like Niang and Royce for 4 of his 5 seasons certainly helped as well. Minus Niang's freshmen season, when he wasn't as dominant, there's 3 seasons where he had a guy that could get a bucket by himself, no matter the defense, or shot clock situation.

I contend, really good teams are way more about their pieces, than the coaching. Any coach in the country will tell you it's the Jimmy's and Joe's and not X's and O's.

If you add a middle of the road starter, like Hogue, to this team, they have at least 3 more wins. Playing what-if, but imagine this team with Shakur Juiston. Who was very close to committing 3 years ago.

Be careful. You will be attacked by the preserve Fred’s legacy, even if you have to make stuff up, crew.

Reality is Fred was great for Iowa state, but he got a whole lot better at end of games when he had a 24 year old point guard, and a pot of the conference who was a senior. The year before they lost every game at the end.

What is "a pot of the conference"? I don't remember a team losing every game either.

I really don't care about it or if he apologizes. This was my first comment on it. Calling into a show possibly using a fake name/location doesn't make you a man.

Writing an email (or attempting to phone) Pollard or Prohm would be a better start.

At least try to face them man-to-man, face-to-face.

I'm just giving you crap.

The way you wrote the "every single game" sentence it means they lost every single game.

Starting with blowing the Kansas game, culminating in the Ohio state game.

Christ the year before they should have beaten Texas in the big 12 tournament

Wasn't that the year they lost 2 or 3 OT games in conference? If I recall, that team was pretty bad defensively which probably explains the close losses.

They found ways to lose at the end of games. It was frustrating. But some years all the breaks go against you.

And some years the breaks go towards you. The 3sus year is the best example. There was plenty of good play that was involved in that. But plenty of luck. Same with the comebacks the next year. They played with fire and it mostly worked. But it was still playing with fire.

This year we definitely haven’t had good luck. But not really bad luck either.

But then again people around the basketball department actually want them to win. So they don’t have to deal with people hoping they lose so they can criticize the coach. Big big difference.

Hadn't really been following this issue, but having left Iowa a couple years ago, this is something that would only happen in Central Iowa. No way is some gold chain wearing Miami fan with a black eye double fisting two 40s ever going to own up to this on a public arena. Very proud of the guy for doing so.

I really think this is a figment of your imagination. Some may dislike the coach and are critical at every turn. However I don’t think those feelings ever translate into “I hope my favorite team losses so I can jump on CF and give Cat Stevens a hard time.”

First. lol. People are openly hoping we lose so they can go after prohm.

And second, yikes about that reading comprehension. I’m just a fan, and support the team, like the people near the program. I’m not a “fan” on cyclone Fanatic here to complain about the current coach, while revising the history of the previous coach to make him seem infallible
