It's mind boggling that Prohm still gets the "good guy" pass when you consider the way Steve and staff treated Cyclone Fanatic for the coverage of a 2-21 team. Coverage that was pretty damn lenient to begin with.
Could you elaborate? I don't remember this.

Admittedly, I did not pat pay much attention to bball out of self-care.

It was an awful season yes. But we didn’t have 5 bye games that we usually do every season.

What makes you think they could win buy games? They lost to SDSU

I could be wrong but I don’t think that was Prohm as much as it was others in the AD, specifically Shoultz

If someone associated with Iowa State basketball got upset with CW for his coverage that was wrong and unfair of them. The coverage on here was fair.

But last year was stressful for a lot of non basketball reasons and I assume that could have played a part in someone overreacting. I imagine watching coaches and players who you’ve naturally grown close to struggle and then get killed by the media is hard. And I can imagine that someone would unfairly lash out. I get that he was mad about it. But 2020-21 sucked a lot and I wish everyone would show some grace.

CW should understand because he lashes out at people that criticize him as well.

All’s well that ends well. TJs the coach and I'm sure we won’t have any issues going forward since everyone is best friends.

Nothing says jsb more than the passive/aggressive shot at the end of the post.

I thought everyone at least liked his basketball reunion but didn’t hear anything about it this year. Did hate of the man get that discontinued too?

Honestly I thought I was more than fair with my response. And I could have said a lot more about how CW is sensitive to criticism of his job.

but my last comment was fair and accurate. The personal relationships are a benefit for this board and I would expect that disagreements and misunderstandings will get worked out quickly.

Trotting out the two wins over and over again is comparing apples to oranges because there weren’t 6-8 games against absolute cupcakes in the COVID year. Even the awful squad last year would have won its games against the likes of Mississippi Valley State (or at least more often than not winning them). Give that team a normal schedule and they probably win like eight. Which of course sucks and is still a fireable offense, but the two wins quip is somewhat misleading.

I don't even care about the overall record to be honest. It's the blowouts and 0-18 which I care about.

That happens with everybody. That's when you know it's probably over. I won't go there yet with Klieman at KSU yet but when you give a presser that starts with begging the media to be more positive I've got some concerns.

I thought they had something but maybe I’m confusing it with Georges’s thing.

I often wonder how people would react to online evaluations of their job performance by the general public while they are clearly on CF about half of the work day.

Steve wont garner any sympathy from me. Iowa State basketball holds a place on the top of my sport totem pole. If I could have one team of mine, college or pro, be good in a given year, it'd be Iowa State basketball. And he inherited it in as good of form as it has ever been and ran it so far into the ground that I don't think it can be rebuilt any time soon.

Nice guy? Sure. But at the end of the day he was a well paid public employee who performed miserably and deserves the scrutiny that comes with that.

Give me Steve's salary and you can critique my job performance all you want. Pay a guy 2.5 million dollars a year and only hold him to the "nice guy" standard.

I'd take getting canned with millions in the bank any time.
