mckay seemed to do alright last year

The only locks are probably Georges, Monte, and Jameel. Naz and Hallice's health are unknown, As well as how Prohm plans to use Nader, Thomas, and Burton ( when eligible). We can all talk in difinitive's and have fun debating, but only the coaching staff has an idea of their plans at this time...I don't really think how you guys think Burton is a lock to start. For one coming in in the middle of the season is not an easy thing to do. I think he has a chance to be a good player just don't see Nader losing his spot. I think the first 5 is a lock with Thomas as the 6th man and Carter as the first big off the bench.
McKay didn't start until at least February. And I don't think he started half the games he played. It took us quite a while to get adjusted to having Jameel on the floor along with Georges as well.mckay seemed to do alright last year
You nailed it CyBri - IMO it's not a matter if Nader starts but what All B12 team he's on. If Nader is used properly - drive & dish, pick n roll, isolation on mismatches, as opposed to being put in a corner to shoot 3s, he averages 13 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asst, & +30 minutes a game. Ok now crush me.If ISU is to have a good year its going to have to be because Nader is starting and playing a lot. We are going to need his size. If he can get about 7 to 8 reb a game and avg nearly 10 a game it will be a huge bonus for us. Just my opinion in all this but I think he has a good senior year.
That goes for all our SF's for which we have only two. It matters little which starts by conference play, but hopefully they will both be in heavy rotation due to strong play. You nailed it CyBri - IMO it's not a matter if Nader starts but what All B12 team he's on. Assuming everyone is healthy, I'm really hoping for Niang, McKay, Monte, Naz and Cooke to start the year.
It would be a fun offense to watch, but what about rebounding?
On the flipside, that looks like a really good FT shooting lineup if Jameel of the last couple months of the season was the RealJameel (TM) from the line. Can't have it all.
Georges averaged 3.4 assists per game last year. I really doubt Nader gets more than 2.You nailed it CyBri - IMO it's not a matter if Nader starts but what All B12 team he's on. Yeah there is no way in hell Nader will average 4 assists per game.Georges averaged 3.4 assists per game last year. I really doubt Nader gets more than 2.
Am I the only one that thinks that Thomas has potential outside of being just a 3 point shooter. I always like his moves to the basket and he seemed to have a decent mid-game range. It just seems Hoiberg always had him live and die at the 3-point line and yanked him out of the game if he was off. Maybe Prohm can use him differently and he can build some confidence outside of shooting 3s.
I really don't think that Hallice will be ready to start day one and even if he does I don't think it would be in our best interest to have him play more than 20 minutes for the first 10 or so games. As for Thomas, I hope he's off the bench where he would have the opportunity to start if he performs. I'd rather move him up to starting, then start him and then move him back to the bench like last year.

We basically know all this, however, filthy casuals get most of their info about other teams through this guy and I think it's nice to know what others are thinking.
He can only get better. I think his 3 pt shooting last year became more of a mental issue after he missed a few.Yes to all of this... I think we are going to see great things from Thomas this year. We saw glimpses of what he is capable of last season, but I agree that he wasn't used properly and was often pulled after one missed shot. I think with his abilities and the new coaching staff, he will be a starter who puts up great numbers.
