UT backup QB, true freshman Jevan Snead, may be transferring at the semester. He was rated the 3rd best QB in the nation in last year's class. I don't know what kind of relationship Snead had with Chizik, but perhaps he will give ISU a look. Wherever he goes, he will have 3 years remaining, after sitting out a year.

Haha this is going to be great, whoever transfers from Texas people r going to be asking about them coming to ISU because of Chizik.

By the way does anyone know if any of Texas's commits r thinking ISU now?

he would only have 2 years remaining, you lose 2 years of eligibility for transfering within conference.

let me know if I am wrong about that

I don't think you lose any more eligibility for transferring within the conference... but you can't be on scholarship. That out of state tuition might be a little hefty on the Snead's.

snead would be riding the pine, because texas has the no 1 qb recruit
coming to texas-a kid by the name of brantley and i think he is a florida kid.

I would think Mack Brown would be a strong enough lure to keep any recruits from leaving Texas to follow Chizik, but I could be wrong.

The Big XII does require direct transfers to sit out a second year, scholarship or not. The way to get around it is to go to a JUCO for 1 year and redshirt while you get your degree. Then you can go to a 4 yr school and have 3 years to play.

I have heard the Snead is really considering TCU. In state school, so it fits.
Florida is a possible choice since is was his first choice before changing him mind, but I dont think he would go there.

What if he went to EIU for a semester, then came to State? That'd be like a JUCO transfer and he'd still have three years of eligibility left, wouldn't he?

Don't forget Colt McCoy, Texas's main QB this year was only a freshman as well. Sounds to be like they are loaded at QB

I dont think they are actually as loaded as what you anticipate. Why else would they have had two freshman battling it out at the beginning of the year.

I believe the next one is line is another freshman who hasnt taken a snap yet in his college career.
