Hoping you watched the game on TV or recorded it as this was a graphic and question to the audience. "Which of these four QB's is the most NFL ready?" They showed Geno Smith, C Klein, B Miller, M Barkley. The commentators even went on to say that Klein will be a first-round choice. He's definitely better than Tannehill from A&M who is playing in the NFL now.

Eric Crouch said that? Well he would know about running college QBs and being ready for the NFL.

Did you post this post-TT as well?

Really, the major inaccuracy was implying that it was ever closed. We do not have a Big 12 starter-level QB right now. Until we do, the spot will be up for grabs.

Did I post this after the TT game? Of course not. I'm not a ******* ******* like the majority of Lazy Boy fans who think they have a clue.

Collin Klein is NOT a potential NFL QB. He has a low delivery motion and lacks the arm strength to make certain throws. He is an excellent college QB because he is a true leader, very intelligent, reads defenses well, makes good decisions, and makes the most of the physical abilities that he has.

Agree completely. Colin Klein is a very good college QB, but his game will not translate to the NFL very well, at least not as a QB. Nothing for him to be ashamed of - most college QBs can't hack it at the NFL level. But just because he won't make it at QB in the NFL doesn't mean he's not a good college QB (I think too many people get caught up in the "if he can't compete in the NFL then he's a garbage QB at all levels" opinion). I certainly wouldn't say no to him playing at ISU - I'd be all for him doing a 5th year postgrad transfer to ISU.

Even though Klein completely outperformed JB, I think whats lost in all of this is the two downed punts they had inside the 5. Thats what really won them the game. Yeah we don't have an explosive offense right now, but many many programs would kill to have a defense like ours. We almost beat the #6 team in the nation people. We put ourselves in a position to win but a few bounce went there way and we lost. I like what we're doing & proud of the guys effort.

I can't believe Collin Klien is getting trashed on here because his game doesn't translate well to the NFL. He is definitely Heisman front runner now that Geno Smith got outplayed by Doege. Whoever called him trash should be ashamed of themselves and stick to NFL and stop watching college if you're going to trash someone who puts up the results this kid does.

Newton and Tebow are better passers than him and are maybe a little more athletic/faster. But Klein is a better runner than both overall because he runs inside and willingly takes a beating. I can't think of any dual thread QB ever who runs inbetween the tackles as well as Klein. Braxton Miller is doing a nice job this year being a similar QB but he couldn't pull that off in the Big 12. Klein is doing it in a good conference.

But yeah, he's an adequate passer at the college level and runs as well as any RB at this level despite not having amazing speed. Unlike our own Barnett he reads defenses and makes the easy throws so he has a chance in the NFL. Great player.

Good backup option for a team with a poor offense he can probably do some of the stuff Tebow did last year. However if he gets a shot in the league his career will be like Newtons...he'll have some sucess initally but eventually the NFL coaching and defenses will watch enough film and catch up with him.

I think he can waltz into Kansas City next year and be better than anything the Chiefs have. Like explained above the sucess will be short lived and eventually defenses will catch up with him becuase hes not a great passer but hed be better than Cassel and Quinn and maybe have a little of the immediate success like RG3 and Newton.

ISU contends for a NC this year with him at QB.

You can't seriously watch our offense and like what you are seeing, right?

We haven't seen a defense as good as ours in Ames for a long, long time, and we are pi$$ing it away with terrible offensive production.

I meant what I said. I like the playcalling, but as far as the inconsistent execution on JB's part, I think we knew what we were getting in him. He'll help improve the running game with the read option, but he's not going to have a high % of completion. Thats the tradeoff with him. Yeah our defense deserves better, but given the players on the roster did you expect much better?

I LOL at this. Look at the last decade, ISU was only in the top half of the Big 12 once and that was 2005 when ISU was like 4th or 5th.
Sorry, I expect to win and anything short of that then I should just be okay with the moral victories of history's past. The players, coaches and admin expect to win then why the hell cant I.

Barnett isn't going anywhere, and the staff has apparently made the decision that Richardson isn't any better, so that's who you got. Deal with it. We know what we have -- an average/below average QB, that isn't changing.

We'll Klein is 3rd in voting for the Heisman so he's going to be playing in the NFL next year. He's not the most gifted athletically but he's smart and reads defenses on the fly. He beat us on Saturday and we let him.

Didn't read the whole thread, but OP is way off base.

However, I think we should consider putting in the backup head coach.

All I really have to say is that my family has a history of heart problems. It seems that ISU qb's are trying to make that trend continue

Remember Charlie Ward? He won the Heisman, entered the draft, & wasn't picked.

I think we're a 6-7 win team this year and about the same or maybe a 5 win team next year. Until we have a QB we will not break that 6-7 win barrier. We have some young QB's that we hope to be productive in the future but I don't think that happens until the 2014 season where SR is a Jr. and Rohach is a So.
