Sweet!

As far as our 2017 class rankings, I will be one of those guys. Yes, I think our recruiting is improving, however, our Big 12 and National ranking is so high right now because we have 17 commits. Zero 5 stars (obviously) and zero 4 stars. If you look at the average recruit ranking on 247 and compare it to other schools, we are in 8th place in the Big 12, ahead of only KU and KSU. I will be surprised if the final class ranking is higher than 7th in the Big 12 when all is said and done.

I am excited to see what kind of recruiting our coaches can do if we manage to win 6 games this season, though!

I agree with the ranking, but the last two classes have brought in a much higher level of talent than what Rhoads was doing towards the end of his tenure.

Great job so far by this staff.

So much "we didn't want him anyway" going on there.
It didn't seem all that bad. They were using a lot of the sarcasm / in the last posts. The thread actually read pretty close to some of our own, but maybe a little less whiney. /s :plaugh: The jimlad > /s in my opinion.

I'll defend Rhoads' recruiting until I'm blue in the face but he never did what Campbell is doing. The talent on the roster last year was good enough to win 8 games and it getting a bump in this class. I don't think last year's class was all that much better than what Rhoads had done the previous year but this one is undeniably deeper. I don't expect a bunch of 4 star guys to come but when you can get 17 quality commitments at this point, all of a sudden, instead of having to recruit a class of 25, you have to recruit 8 more guys (with help of current commits) and maintain the other 17. That doesn't mean that the 17 don't require work, it's just different.

Can't wait to see what kind of recruiting success this staff might have if they can actually win a few games.

One thing this staff has going for it right now is that they haven't lost any games yet either.

We all seem to go back and forth with arguing about recruiting ranking..not arguing maybe disagreeing and comparing..Arkansas has 16 commits...NW..South Carolina..all have 15-17 commits and ranked ahead and some are right there with avg. player ranking with Isu..

Never since I've been following Isu football for 30+ years have I seen a staff that's able to recruit like this to Isu. One problem with 247 composite is u can be a 4 star with 3 services and yet 1 service has you a 3 star and it drops you to a 3 star on composite etc..

I've gotten to the point where I look at 2 things...1- who else wanted the kid..2- Where does the recruit sit nationally at their respective position.. The amount of commits this staff is landing that are in the top 100 nationally isn't even on the same plane as CPR..Or the first point either.

I do agree that the ranking will drop as other schools fill their classes. That said, it will still likely be ISU's highest ranked class since the 70's. And, they have a good shot at getting a couple 4 star/high 3 star players like Kam White, Marquis Hayes, KJ Hamler, MJ Webb. The good thing is that they have most of the class full, so they can focus on some big fish and really focus in on need positions.

Campbell is definitely on the right track...just keep stacking good classes together and the wins will come.

I still believe this class will be 28 players.

Agree, seeing recruits that have multiple offers from quality programs tells me all I need to know. Having a kid choose ISU over VT would have had this board crooning under CPR.

That would mean a double-figure (or nearly so) attrition. I know this is the bigs, and this is the shape of Div. I football these days, but. . . .
