Ahhh. The Glendower Banner.

Hope you are doing well, Roger, wherever the hell you are.

I live in the extreme drought area in NC Iowa. We got .7 so far. But we are between 4-5 inches for August. Sadly, too little too late. The yields are already programmed in at this point.

Raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock in southern iowa. I’m guessing four inches in about 40 min

1/2 inch in Grimes today. I'll welcome any rain at this point but we really need just a week of steady on/off again showers to start to catch up from 2 years of drought in most of the state. It's too late for the crops but just getting some ground moisture going into the fall will help next spring.

Hopefully, it gets it all out of its system before next Saturday.

Tuesday was 1.33, Yesterday I dumped half and inch just after lunch. Since then it says I've received another 5.5" of rain and still raining. I hope the radar is off. When it is dry it is way off. but have noticed when it's not a drought its somewhat accurate. The 1.33 tuesday may mean its legit.

Beans? Maybe but I doubt it.

We are still adding test weight in both. Corn will add test weight until black layer. There’s a sizable yield difference between 54 pound corn and 58 pound corn across enough acres.

The dust will be back by mid morning. Two tenths was all we had. Some of you don’t share too well.:p

It rained enough over night in north east Iowa for a little water to find its way into my basement. Usually only happens when it pours hard for an extended time. Or if the ground is already saturated then it will find its way in. Combine those two and I have a disaster.

Should make for some fun field conditions for many high school football games tonight.
