Like I said, it will probably be fine as long as nothing is bumping into it or you have any kids that like to mess with everything they can get their hands on. But it is just a bigger version of a standard picture hanger.

Fair enough. Just have to keep the cats out of my bedroom and hope they don't get up on my living room mantle. But still, 20% of the advertised weight rating with good reviews is going to hold up.

I'll also add you can get 4k 50" TVs for under $200. TVs are continuing to be stupid cheap. Just got a 65" QLED Samsung that was 50% cheaper than a 1080p 55" Vizio I bought 6 or 7 years ago.

Remember my dad bringing home our first flat screen in the mid 2000s. 46" Sony that was like $4k.^

That was the color sets. We were warned not to sit too close. That, and it would ruin our eyesight. We didn't have a color set until 1973 so I'm a remain a mere mortal.

That mount would probably be fine for a small cheap tv but no way I would trust it for anything else. It’s literally just nails in drywall like a picture hanger.

As somewhat of an extreme DIYer of sorts, I completely agree and for like 2.5x the price of the mount below, I’m not sure why anyone would choose it. The surface area of the brackets spreads the weight across the crumbly Sheetrock. If you don’t trust yourself to find a stud, use the mount below and throw in a couple toggles instead of the screws.
