Had to put on my @wxman1 aviation boy hat to try and ID the flying boat I saw while walkabout today. Probably a Grumman Albatross. There's one in Eagan per a little web searchie and it's painted up blue like the one I saw flying overhead. Not what you expect to see in the winter though.

Definitely not what you expect to see in the winter!

Me when I hear anything overhead that isn't a Delta jet, a chopper or a Cessna.

Proud of the men's BB team. They are improving - especially defensively - and if they can just make a few more shots fall, they'll win some of these games.

Consider this: Texas won last week at the Phog by 25 points. We lost to them by 6 at their place, after trailing by 15. I call that progress.

Last night the forecast was for snow along the western border. Wake up this morning to the sound of rain on the roof (5:30AM), and slushy, slick streets. Thankfully nobody was being an idiot and driving too fast for the conditions.

Not exactly sure.
Son is getting fees of anywhere from $40-125 for each online class. Why are online classes more expensive than inperson classes at ISU? This makes zero sense. The online stuff my daughter takes at community colleges is not higher and their tuition is even 2/3rds the price. I’m confused by this.

No good reason. Just that they can.

The kids are all about anything that flies, if I am outside I will stop and watch anything that flies over but really only radials or things that sound interesting get me to run outside.

The online class fees reminded me of one of my wife’s co-workers kids. He had one online class so he was staying in the dorms. You had to request before the 19th of December to get a waiver to break your dorm contract. On the 18th he got an email saying his last class was now online. He didn’t know the process of asking for waivers. He tried but hasn’t heard back.

They really need to figure out what is online or in person earlier to allow these kids to plan.

We live almost directly under the helicopter route between 2 national guard bases. It's fun when you hear the thumping of the rotors coming. Took the family over to offutt a few years ago, air shows are fun to watch.

We live under the lifeflight path from the regional hospital to any of them to the west. The thumping sound is one we don’t care for.
