My quest for the perfect Minnesota winter glove is into it's 5th decade. The vintage Eddie Bauer wool/thinsulate/leather ones in the middle are still the best. BTW, I have an almost equal number of stocking caps.

Yeah, I have multiple winter coats and I usually just leave one of my many pairs of gloves in the pockets of each. I try to match the personality of the gloves to the personality of the coat.

Yeah, I know I'm weird.

I have mind categorized into cold zones and weather conditions. Have some thin wool/leather good grippers for driving into the teens than have a heavier pair to escalate to when the real cold happens. Some walkabout glovies are good for sunny and below zero but **** for warmer and windy. And there are the thin polypropylene liners I can add. Should probably create a @cowgirl836 spreadsheet. ;)

I wear different winter coats based on conditions with the appropriate gloves in the pockets because Minnesota.

I have six true winter coats if you count the dress wool one for wearing over a suit or sport coat and the old down parka CWW#1 gave me that is now a yard work jacket. Haven't pulled out the Eddie Bauer vintage super parka in a few years. It doesn't actually get cold enough for that one anymore. That one might need a clothes brush to knock dust over the shoulders. Also not counting the old ISU Starter jacket parka thingie. Man, need to pack that up to Goodwill in Iowa or something.

Not exactly sure.
I have a lot of coats. If you need one and don’t mind a seed/chemical/livestock/etc name on it, let me know. I’ve good willed a bunch already. Strangely I wear my bought carhartt the most.

Oh, almost forgot my tried and true winter gear rule. NEVER wear warmer gear than you need early in the season, most years this is the time period before Christmas. You need the psychological boost of escalating to something warmer come January below zero time. ;)

This is why I wear a lot of flannel shirts and insulated vests early in the season. It also allows the body to get accustomed to the cold.

Sent a welfare "check-in" text to couple down the street, old peeps like me. I usually stop and chat when they are in the yard and I'm out walkabout. Of course that's not happening now. Sent this morning and no reply so pretty sure they d-e-a-d.

And, if it comes time to come for MY stuff no one will know when to come now since R, my mail carrier, changed routes. If I croaked she would likely be the first to figure it out. She's been our carrier for over 20 years but is taking an easier pre-retirement route of office blgs downtown. She's super social and we chat at least a couple times a week. In COVID era world she might be the only person I know personally that I talk to in person for weeks at a time.

My Dad's best friend who lives in Buffalo does this too, he works his was from lightest layers on up to his winter jacket so his winter jacket coincides with the coldest part of the winter.

Mrs. Velo just brought me an opened envelope and said, "Great job, we've been audited." I do the taxes so the implication was that I messed up. Well, it isn't actually an audit. It turns out that Minnesota changed their tax laws for 2020 but they didn't go into effect until July of 2021 so I will get back what I had to send in with my state tax return and more. That is about $700 I didn't expect to get.

How come if I don't get it right in April I have to pay a penalty and interest on the amount but they can hold my money for 8 months after I sent it in and 5 months after the tax law change and they don't owe me a dime of interest? Govmint...

This is rhetorical, I know the answer...

Going to need a Hilton attendance report from @Ms3r4ISU and @NWICY, like how much space is filled in the balcony. Was at the "Doyle Game" with NWICY and attendance was good from students and lower level but seem to recall balcony was almost empty which I was a little surprised at versus Iowa. Hope we have 8000-9000 real cheeks in the seats tonight. On paper this should be a great matchup.

I would prefer 16000 to 18000 cheeks in the seats. ;)

Thing is we report around 10,000 or so a game and that's WAY more than are in the seats. 5,000-6,000 is still really good, just not what we claim. Attendance is padded with all of the kid deals and general admission season specials. If every seat in the lower level is filled 100% with no empties it's 5,700. The lower level is 5700 and upper is 8700. I think people sometimes think it is the other way around. Not dissing attendance, like I said 5/6k is really good, just dissing the way we count.
