Put Windows 11 on my work laptop last week. More patches loaded sometimes this weekend. Currently on reboot #3

I finally accepted the upgrade to 11 on my laptop. Has a very small SSD. I use it mostly for riding the wild surf on the internet. Was concerned that I didn't have enough memory so took most of my personal files off and it did load. Other than taxes I don't do any "work" on it but photos were a chunk, mostly Mexico. Don't trust my old desktop to do finances on as it's old and a bit bulky at times so think it's likely corrupted some, whether that's just screwed up registry **** or something intrusive I don't know, hence lack of trust.

Sun halo this morning.
We drove down to Central Iowa on Sunday morning to take daughter back to college (delayed from Saturday because we though Saturday travel wouldn't be too smart). There were huge sundogs in the Twin Cities which quickly became a complete horizon to horizon halo. As sun rose it got close to a complete circle. We saw it for well over a 100 miles.

Was in eastern Iowa all weekend and Sunday there was a pretty significant one. Was pretty cool to look at with exception to my fingers almost falling off after 35 seconds.

The radiation stopped most of my beard from growing. Some of it does now. I haven't shaved in well over a week and I've go a real Joe Dirt thing going.
I had the same thing happen, but it's now back. I also had a patch on the back of my neck that was super smooth. When I asked the radiation oncologist about it, he said "I figured it wouldn't be a big deal". He was right, I have about 8 inches of ring left, when I don't shave. Not sure how the radiation impacted the back of my neck......

This reminds me that I need a haircut, badly need a haircut. On the plus side the only people that see me without a stocking cap on are peeps at the gym and grocery.

The hair on the back of my head isn't growing either. But it sems to be isolated to the part they would just use the clippers on anyway.

I could use one as well, my last haircut was probably late October. I just used my clippers and did it myself.

Welp.
We're spending the night in Denver, and flying to Cairo via Frankfurt on Lufthansa. Blerg. We weren't really impressed with Lufthansa but beggars can't be choosers.
Lufthansa cancelled our flight we are now at DIA and have been in the United line for about an hour now.

During COVID Mrs. Velo bought some clippers and learned to do basic haircuts for son and me. She has done a pretty good job so I haven't gone back to the barber. Last time she took off the guard to change it out for a different one and set the clippers down. She got distracted and picked up the clippers again and took a big swipe off my head with no guard on. Let's just say I ended up with a shorter cut than I bargained for. I didn't get mad because what good would that do and she has been a trooper learning to cut hair and giving us cuts for the last 3+ years.

She probably won't make that mistake again.

I used to trim up my dad's hair. Not hard to cut someone's hair when they wear a hat of some sort 95% of the time.

Is there a slightly sore throat kind of cold going around Iowa? Was there this weekend and have one. Just one side and no other symptoms.

Just remember to ask for haircuts on the weeks things are going well. After a disagreement you may get the center stripe treatment.
