I was thinking of your long legs on those overseas flights to London.
That was long before I had to go to the UK. I was able to fly 1st class from Minneapolis to New York and back a couple of times. One time we flew right over Niagara Falls and the pilot never said anything. I looked out the window at just the right time and pointed it out to the guy sitting next to me.

When I worked at Wells Fargo Mortgage in the late 90's, I would always fly first class.......to Dayton, Ohio!!!! I also got to ride in the companies(not Wells) private jet 3-4 times, which was amazeballs.

Those corporate pilots have it made, fly to great locations and then spend all day golfing while the CEO is in meetings.

I don't know if it was Dayton or not, but back when my father was at Boeing he worked on the ALCM, a black box project (this was after our stint in Florida). He couldn't tell us where he was going on his week-long trips, just that he was going east (from the Seattle area). At some point we learned it was Ohio, but we never knew WHERE in Ohio.

That was really problematic for me as a high schooler (both my sisters were married at this point). My mother had Osteomylitis most of her life, and it decided to flare up while Daddy was on one of his trips "east". She was hospitalized, and I spent several hours on the phone trying to get someone to reach out to my father and let him know. I finally managed to connect with a group secretary in his unit and she took pity on me and called my father. Scary times.

A friend of mine flew for Menards Corp. Not that his job was super-difficult but they did require pilots to perform some of the basic maintenance on their corporate planes. On one trip, he was washing windows. John Menard told him not to use Windex brand window cleaner anymore and to start using a cheaper brand.

I knew a guy from Lions club who was a pilot for Bandag. His biggest complaint was on call requirement outside of normal schedule. He always had to be one hour away from the airport. When on call he couldn't venture far away from home, drink, etc. He did talk about passengers and locations a lot. He said on occasion he would fly "back up" flights, never having a passenger there or back but going just in case needed so no delays for rides as he called them. He tried to get on at Deere and one day said he was moving to St. louis flying for A.B.
