My wife has been dealing with all of the financials with her parents' estate since her mother passed away last month. All of it. She was out there for 2 weeks after the funeral and she has been doing it remotely for the past two weeks since they lived in Illinois. I've been pretty much taking care of the house (laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc) and our daughter while she spends any free time she has on that. No biggie.

Her sister managed to rupture her achilles on Monday. The same sister whose husband does not work. The same sister that only works a couple days a week and has been having their mother pay their mortgage for the past couple of years. She proceeds to call up my wife last night and yell at her for not helping her while she is hurt. Literally yelling at my wife, who has been taking care of EVERYTHING related to their parents' estate.

I'm not sure that I have ever made my wife that mad. If her sister would have tried saying that to her face, I'm relatively sure all 5'2" of Mrs. Cooler would have been administering a severe sibling beat-down.

That's horrible. I hope you were able to help her get the venting done and calmed down.

Revkah - Did Erik take miss Z for a walk around the concourse last night? I saw someone that I thought was him, with a little one wandering with him picking up something (popcorn, maybe) off the floor. Made me giggle - the guy was pretty quick to keep her from eating it, whatever it was. It was a side and back view, so I couldn't be sure.

My activity is 99.9% right now if I get it to 100% do I get the overdrive achievement?

When it showed up on my achievements, I had to ask double ought what it was (he has one too). Frankly, I still don't understand fully where it came from or how I got it. I sure as heck can't figure out how I have it when CG & Pants don't. :)

This little one did seem to be walking pretty well (running even), but still about the same size as my one meeting with her. I love seeing them at the games - little cheerleaders and little #32 jerseys. Training them right!

......eventually.
I'm still treading lightly though

My oldest sister and oldest step-brother are both retired, both have considerable money of their own (with their spouses), and a better understanding of finances, stocks, wills, yadda yadda than I do, or my other sister does. Roger & Tina have done the lion's share of assisting with our father & his mom. I make a point of expressing my gratitude to Tina frequently. Our father can be pretty dang cantankerous, and is getting worse. Ever hear of "sundowner" syndrome? For the most part he's not too bad (he IS 90, after all). His memory is failing, and his patience is failing with it, but he's definitely at his best in the early afternoon.

Sad part is, CG, based on your previous posts, I can totally see this being Mr. Cowgirl posting down the road as this scenario happens to you. Let's hope not, though.

Taking my wife home this afternoon and friends are bringing food for us the next four days. I can handle that!
