From last night:

1. A holiday recipe thread would be great. We haven't had a serious food sharing thread for awhile.
2. Pants, adding resistance could be a great thing. Especially if you are getting board with just running. I recommend resistance bands. I just like them better and you can use them for more than one exercise.
3. 00, we had a discussion a long time ago about a tv show where the teen admitted to hitting/beating on his mom. Husband mentioned that if he caught our child doing that to me that he would take the child down (protect me). SIL apparently didn't get it and thought he was being extreme...... sigh.

What I'm worried about is building too much muscle doing it. I'm okay with my mass where it's at, I just want the mass to be less fatty. I know you can fix that with strength training, and I'm still doing cardio, just two miles a night now, so cutting it from 19 to 10 a week, and I'm a bit concerned how my body will react to it. I'm just so sick and tired of running that it's getting to be a major internal battle every night to get myself to go to the gym anymore.

I'd recommend Jazzercise.

Dangit...almost forgot to mention pork fat. Had pork loin chops and potatoes fried in bacon fat for lunch. I, too, am happy with my mass, and am pretty okay with fat/muscle ratio.

I maybe made it another 4 past that. I agree.

Social media is great, except when it's not.

One thing I've been pretty appreciative of in these RT threads is the fact that the regulars and the visitors tend to be less toxic. It just feels like there's more respect and less sniping. Sure, there's teasing, but it's not snark from total strangers. There's a relationship/history prior to the comments about stalkers, janky feet and "feminine" spouses.

Whenever I venture into gameday threads or threads like the Farniok thread, I exit feeling...soiled, for lack of a better word. Total strangers calling each other starred out names. Bagging on each other for being too pessimistic or too positive. I get that people are disappointed in the way the past two seasons have gone. I don't get frothing at the mouth calls for massive amounts of bloodletting.

I came to CF because ESPN went to FB logins, and CBS was far too toxic. Some days I question that choice.

I rarely go out of the off topic section. If I do it isn't for long and it is even more rare for me to post.

You feel soiled because of all the poo being thrown about.

However, you've been here just over a year....it's toxic now because football is a crap storm. I joined in April, 2011...just after Fred's first year, and Paul's 2nd. We weren't *there* yet in basketball, but everyone was pretty excited to see what was going to happen with the Hoiball experiment that would be coming (transfers would start playing that 2nd year). We had belief that despite missing a bowl game that year, the future was looking bright in football. As well, there's a lot of people that have jumped on the train (bandwagon if you prefer) due to some early decent success, and went all in because of the locker room speeches that are now getting their first bitter taste of what a lot of us have felt for years as ISU football fans, and they're not liking it. As well, some long time fans that thought the savior had come are now wondering...and wondering if it's even possible...that's a hard position to be in if you base your life happiness on the performance of a sports team...and unfortunately for society, fortunately for college athletic departments and professional front offices with gigantic appetites for cash, there's a lot of people that base their life happiness on the performance of a sports team. I predict that things will get better if football gets better, or site traffic will decrease as the pants whizzers just give up and go home, or get banned because they can't control themselves.

Not a good time to be without a job. I hope you're looking because you want out of the one you have, and not because you have been ousted. Good luck in the search, man.

I'm still in my current job. Just trying to put some feelers out. I'm trying to hang on for another year or so until the doctor I work for and I open up a place, but I'm starting to hate it here.

Taking my wife home this afternoon and friends are bringing food for us the next four days. I can handle that!

Hope she is feeling good. Yay for good friends! My next door neighbor just had a baby, texted her from Target to see if she needed anything. Said another friend had just texted the same. :) Will be taking a meal over soon.

KC, why does it show your join date as June of 2013? I know you've been here longer than that, right?

She is doing much better but still obviously sore. Sadly she can't go back to work for a week (home daycare and we feel bad marking the families figure something else out).

Interestingly the nurse said they had 17 babies born yesterday. Definitely didn't think that many were here nor did I see more than two or three ddifferent families in the waiting area.

00 and Cooler's postings make me thankful that I have a most awesome sister who is taking care of my mothers finances and health care stuff. My job, as most awesome long distance brother, is to thank her and agree with whatever she decides or suggests (easy because we are usually on the same page with stuff). And, as a plus, my BIL is a really decent good guy, although he is a hawk fan but no one is perfect.

Did I mention my sister is pretty awesome?

Sad part is, CG, based on your previous posts, I can totally see this being Mr. Cowgirl posting down the road as this scenario happens to you. Let's hope not, though.

you
know, i think i am an executor if both parents diefarm stuff is in there somehow, but if my sister pulled something like that, i'd just laugh and hang up. i doubt she'd call me anyway but yeah, i can definitely see her mooching forever.

One of the reasons we want to get back is so I can take care of my parents and their affairs when needed. My sister sure as hell wont be able to handle it.

My Mom just sold her parent's farmland yesterday so they could close the estate (my Grandpa passed away a few years ago, my Grandma about a year ago). She is the only sibling in Iowa, so she takes care of everything (she is also the oldest). They had a minimum bid set and they weren't reaching it yesterday, so she had to call her sister to give the okay to remove it. My mom didn't get the phone hung up all the way, so her sister ended up hearing what the final bid was and I guess she wasn't happy. It was less than they wanted, but it is done and the estate can be settled.

When I read this, I actually did it with a pause after the word "you".

My in-laws' house was under-valued, but it sold immediately. It's tough to separate yourself emotionally from a place that you used to call home, but it's tougher to let it go on too long with nobody wanting to buy it ("why isn't the house I grew up in good enough for you"). It's better if you realize that no buyer will view that place through your eyes.

I was wondering what diefarm stuff was. Then I figured it was just more German stuff.
