Back to Wichita in the morning. Going to get the house ready to sell and hope I hear some good news by the end of the month.

was going to go for my first run of the year with this weather.......ran around getting some samples after work, took a phone call from my mom........now I'm reading about everyone else who went running while I had a cookie and now want to take a nap to fight this headache.

I feel shame, ha.

Went for a walk with the family and decided to turn it into a longer run when my wife and daughter walked back. Bad move. My lungs were on fire. I got it out of the way, but man it wasn't pretty. The only thing Baywatch about that run was that it went in slow motion.

I've come to learn the older I get, the worse my road rage gets.
I get more annoyed with inconsiderate drivers, but my road rage is much lower....thankfully. Having a kid that can repeat things is a good cure for road rage.

Ms A has an interview next week to be an instructor for Kenra products. We would have to move to NYC. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
That's a big lifestyle change. Have you spent much time up there? My wife wanted to move there initially so she could work on the stock market. I balked, probably out of fear of the unknown. I've gone there a couple times, but I'd struggle staying there every day. I value my space too much.

There's still a part of me that wished I stepped out of my comfort zone and gone for it for her. I don't envy your decision.

yeah we did a toooooooooon of lunges yesterday with really heavy weights and my thighs and butt are not amused today. I should have done something with some stretching but yeah, I have a feeling my legs would have given up before my lungs today. And my lungs aren't conditioned well right now......so about a half mile and I would have been calling for a scooter to get me home.

Hahahahaaaaa, I can laugh now, but I learned how to chill out after hearing a 2.5 year old chant "F'ing go" in a sing-song voice from the back seat for about 30 seconds.

:embarrassed:

Ah-Ha! I finally found a good link to data I've heard referenced several times in various places...I posted in another thread, but had to share with my peeps in here.

Title pull quote:
Regular churchgoers and married people most satisfied with their love life

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/04/140409103032.htm

This is a study from Portugal, but I believe Kinsey showed a similar correlation.

Or those who enjoy harmonious social ties.

So essentially people that are happy in life and not hermits have better love lives? I don't know if that's overly breaking news.

And be careful when quoting Kinsey. Most of those studies were massively flawed.

Well, I'll completely agree with you on the bolded part, and why I only referenced it tangentially...mainly because for some odd reason it's still got a lot of popular culture cred. I honestly wouldn't have put that whole sentence in, but figured the simple response would be "sure, in Portugal, whatevs", so I did....prolly should have figured I didn't need to in this crowd.

As for the rest of your statements, I'm sorry if I offended you or your accepted wisdom, I just hate the cultural 'wisdom' that married people are miserable and religious people are prudes who hate sex...a post in another thread reminded me to look for a good link again...I had looked before and hadn't found a good one that said it concisely, and wanted to share it here where we have some really good discussions.

No offense taken. My response did sound more sarcastic than meant though.

Despite what sitcoms tell you, married couples tend to be happy, otherwise they wouldn't be married still. And religious folk would fit in to that category of enjoying harmonious social ties. So essentially these groups of people are happy, which would tend to lead to a happy love life. Happy in one category of life often spills over into other categories.

Kinsey though......

I think there's more to it than happiness tendencies and social ties, though, and I've lived it. I'll risk being 'preachy' here, but hopefully y'all already accepting my other flaws will allow it to slide, too. I'm generally happy, and my 'enjoying harmonious social ties' has not changed since college, but in the first several years of my marriage, I wasn't actively religious and lived life seeking my own happiness, and I ended up miserable and one of the loneliest married people I could imagine. I don't think I was ever considering divorce, but I also didn't see a path to happiness beyond my typical ability to crack a joke and laugh it off (which was fading slowly).

The thing that ultimately turned for me was committing to working on making ME better instead of waiting for everyone else to be better. By me being less selfish and after seeing results, sharing that philosophy, that's when Mrs. 00clone and I went from two people who had a good functional partnership and who fit pretty well together to being two people stupidly in unconditional love with each other. We were infatuated with each other when we started dating, as normal, and we ended up deciding that 'hey, this'd work', but it wasn't until that change that we both (okay, I) had that unconditional, "I don't care if your hair is a mess or you're snoring and farting, I'd lay down my life for you" type of submissive love that we both started being stupidly happy...and my talk of crazy-fun sessytimes...that wasn't the case when I was thinking of my happiness.

In the end, I think there's something to the true, equal submission of "Man, I will follow you" and "Woman, I will give everything I have, including my life, to serve you" type of commitment to a real marriage that ends up with happiness and sessytimes fulfillment...and yes, I've talked about submission...I'm not talking about a man with his boot on a woman, or a man who grovels at the feet of his woman, I'm a strong man who submits himself to his also awesome and strong woman.

So I am a TA for undergrads.....

Last week: A girl that I teach asked me where I lived, I told her, she said oh yeah I live there also.... Turns out she lives in the apt right next to mine.

This week: Her and her friend were giggling in class. I what was so funny, the friend said that I was in girl X's dream. I didn't wanna get anymore into it. Girl x's face got super red and they all started giggling.

I mean I'm a freakin stud right. Am I going to get taken advantage of some late night?
