I have to drive back home to NW Iowa tomorrow for a funeral (aunt - 95, died peacefully, ready to go, pretty much on her own terms). I'm working until 1100, then making the 5 hour jaunt to make it there for the visitation. 10 minutes ago, the owner of the company comes by, drops 2 tickets on my desk for the game tomorrow night and doesn't saying anything to me.

Do I let him know that I won't be going, but tell him that my wife and daughter would gladly take them; and see what he says? Or do I just take it as a gift, shut my mouth, and have my wife and daughter go; eliminating the risk of having him possibly pull the tickets back?
game is at 6, then 8 hour drive for the visitation

Onions suck. A real bad suck not just a little suck. Ordered the Bacon Velveeta at Hardee's, expecting a bacon cheesy glory. Opened it up to find onions. Took them all off, still ruined the sandwich. **** you onions.

Keep your mouth shut. You want to give the impression that you went to the game, even if you don't. That way if a chance like this comes around again, you'll be given the tickets again. If it's known "you" don't go this time, the offer won't even be put on the table the next time.

That was my initial thought, but everyone in the office knows I'm going to a funeral in Iowa. Most are already accusing me of cutting work to go to P&L and get my drink on before the game. I'm worried that if the owner finds out that I didn't go to the game and didn't say anything to him, he may not offer tickets to me in the future.

I think I need to do the honorable thing. I hoping he won't care since he sorta kept it hush-hush when he gave me the tickets in the first place. And I think my daughter has him wrapped around her finger.

You go to the game yourself.

Your aunt would understand.

I was expecting either this or, "Simple, you give the tickets to me and don't tell your wife" response. Y'all didn't disappoint!

I hate the snooze button since I'm the type of person who sets their alarm and then gets up when it goes off.

same. I never use the snooze. I'm afraid I'd get used to it and then sleep through it. Plus once the alarm goes off, I can't peacefully sleep for another 10. I just lay there thinking I have to get up in 9...8..7... minutes.

Then you get in a situation like me where you wake up at 4:45 a.m., when you were suppose to be at work at 4 a.m.

I mean yeah, that's a bit excessive. I have done that before where I wake up and see the time I get up but an hour earlier - so 5:45 instead of 6:45 and dream-think I just shut off my alarm and go about getting ready. Then I come back into the room to grab my phone and realize that it's only 6:15 instead of 7:15. So I sleep for another half hour, ha.

The problem does not lie with waking up at 4:45 but rather having a job that requires you to be at work at 4:00 freakin' a.m. in the freakin' morning!

:swoon:

I am really tempted to try jogging with Z in a stroller. It's four wheeled and turns well (Britax). I wonder how well that would go over.

Are the three wheeled ones better for that? Seems like anyone I see running while pushing a stroller, it's one of the three wheeled strollers.

Saying you are going running! Run shaming part II for CG.

PS: I am trying to pick up some of the baby boomer posting slack with KC on her vacation sabbatical.

I'll be doing a workout class tonight! Mark my words, it will involve many squats or lunges because whatever we overdo in my Monday class.........the instructor for Wednesday seems to pick up on telepathically and think "Cowgirl wants more lunges! MOAR!"

random thought - so with all this house stuff I'll occasionally read stuff about what are the new design trends or stuff like that. Do you know what is "hot" for kitchens right now? Open shelving. WTF. Who came up with this? Why would I want my dishes sitting out collecting dust, looking all cluttery, and being at a massive "crash onto the floor" risk? Pay attention to tv shows and commercials - I've totally noticed it popping up in them. So much no.

If you are on a pretty flat path (a pth would be better than a sidewalk) the regular stroller should work ok. They don't have the same protection/suspension as a jogging strollerso the ride may be a bit rough for her. You could see if Duckworth has one or stat scouting garage sales for a jogging stroller. I traded my sister my single for her double since she only had one in a stroller yet. I got the better end of the deal. Mine was a cheapy from Target and hers is a $300 cadillac of a jogging stroller. :)

p.s. Ignore all the typos. I hate my ipad and I need to put kids down for a nap

This is weird, so before I report it as some sort of site bug, someone else confirm. Are you guys seeing Cowgirl's question above as if it was posted by Pantsy? The weird part is all CG's other posts on this page show up fine, but for some reason this question about baby running strollers shows up as if Pants asked it, and that can't be right.

She even used capital letters at the beginning of sentences. I think she hacked me and posed as me.

That's what the companies say/sell. I think if it is a smooth surface it should work.

I can confirm that on a smooth surface, such as an airport concourse, and under the right circumstances, such as cutting a connecting flight really close, any stroller can be used as a jogging stroller, although toddler's enjoyment of the fun ride won't correspond with dad's panic at the thought of getting stuck in an airport with a soon-to-be 2 YO and a pregnant wife.

On a related note, booked tickets to go see the in-laws in AZ coming up soon! Looking forward to the trip, but part of me also thinks...sheesh, it's nice we don't have to spend $1300 every time we want to go see my parents.
