Some random Youtuber with 22k followers followed me on Twitter. I don't follow her. And I hardly ever post on twitter. Wonder if she got the wrong person, since my name is so common.

Also, I was went to a community college first. While I don't regret it because I saved an ass load of money, the level of education wasn't anywhere in the same stratosphere as ISU. NIACC is geared to small farm high schools where the education is lacking. My assumption is DMACC is geared to inner Des Moines high schools where education is lacking. My freshman year in English they taught 5 paragraph papers. We were doing that by 6th grade where I grew up.

Broad brush buddy. My English teacher in HS taught at ISU for awhile. When I changed HS my senior year my small farm school had covered everything in three years that a medium(at the time) school did in four. I had tougher classes in HS than my nephews did that were 5-7 years behind me in larger school, might have heard of this town.....Mason city?

No, Niacc was a lateral move from HS during my days. Don't know now.

Wisconsin from the Air Winter is on. I loved the first one they did.

DH trying to outdo me on sickyness. Running a 101 fever.

We always got lots of NICC transfers into the ag program. They always got to transfer in credits that took place of our super difficult anatomy class. I think the vet wannabes had to retake maybe and they were like yeah, the NICC version of that was a joke. Good way to save money.

Saw this and immediately thought of @CycloneErik

My grad student son got every question in left column from about two dozen people over Thanksgiving. Then had to explain that the thesis was going pretty well until he got pulled into another student's lab work because of security issue and he is only US citizen available. Then had to tell them all he couldn't tell them what he is working on because it is a security issue. Then diverted my brothers by trying to help them with their fantasy football teams.

I think outside of classes not transferring, just the lost networking and adjustment puts CC transfers behind. By my Jr year I had a full plan and had set up people to help guide me (like lawmans roommate) and knew my way around. The transfers I knew were always playing catch up with most things.

agreed. It was part of the reason I didn't do CC (also my out of state CC wouldn't transfer in). My program was pretty tight knit and I would have been behind. We did have a large group come in my Jr. year and they did pretty well - I think partly because they already knew each other and had an easier time jumping in than if they'd been alone.

BFF and her husband did do gen eds over summers at NICC so they could be done in 3 years.

Speaking of Jucos and Waldorf. Boxster, did you know that they are four year now? They changed about the time I moved to forest city.
