How'd the race go?

it went well! I ran the first mile in 10 which was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast for how I've been training so I had a rough 2nd mile which included going up a famous hill on campus. But after that I got settled in and got some rain the last section. Got done in just under 55 minutes which was my goal. Ankle did start hurting about 1.5 in, but I kept doing that rotating of it mid-stride and that really seemed to help. Like, it's not sore today as I expected so I have no idea what that means. Did get a nice blister forming on the bottom of my left big toe. Some of my friends' times were 38, 40, and 43. So I was way behind them! Plus I started a good 10-15 minutes after them so they were very sweet to wait in the rain and cold for me to come in.

Good work! As long as you finish the race healthy, you're good to go. My last major race was a disaster. Broke my foot in mile 3 and continued to finish the last 10 miles just thinking it was a minor discomfort. The race finished around 85 degrees and humid so people were dropping like flies. My legs locked up on me right after I crossed the finish line and I had to be carried to medical to get an IV. That's when the pain started to set in and I found out about my foot. Absolute disaster.

Stepped out on to the deck and it smells awesome out since my snapple tree is starting to bloom.

Two Z stories at once:
1. She nibbled from my Baconator at lunch until she finally went ahead and took it for herself (until it made her hands messy).

2. We got some milk from the fridge the other day. I asked her "What do we say?" Instead of "Please," she went with "Thank God for you, Daddy." I went ahead and let her go with that one.

This will solidify my no long distance running rule. Hill sprints for this guy!

Taking a break from yard work with a sammich and some Velocity Channel. Show is driving me crazy because it about restoring a Porsche 928 and they repeatedly mispronounce Porsche.

Was watching dateline last night and it was the Boone, IA case. A medical examiner from S. Dakota kept saying home-acide.
