Ah, hell. Good news is they found my Kindle at the hotel in amsterdam and got an email from their lost and found group on how to get it back.

Bad news is the email is in Dutch.

Edit: oops, tabbed down further and there is an English version!

And on the topic of barking up the wrong tree, email from ISU Alumni Association sponsored thingy trying to get people to move back to Iowa. Ha, free food at the Minneapolis club maybe I should go. Hey, Velo, Clonee, Arob, want to crash the party?

Free food to move back to Iowa? Is this the one downtown or the country club out by you? Is there free booze? What kind of free food? What kind of free booze? Will there be "dancers"? Do I have to dress up? Can I bring my kids and will somebody else watch them and entertain them?

Had to pull over to mention this. On highway 169, I cross an intersecting blacktop. There is an explorer at the stop sign. I watch two people walk behind the vehicle and start hugging each other like a long time no see intimate hug. WTF is that. Still hugging when I went past and out of distance. Vehicle just passed my stopped pickup and drove into Minnesota. You Minnesota people are strange.
Could you see one head in the vehicle when it drove past or two?

Think I'll be there and ask if anyone is interested in buying a house in Manchester and what kinda cool things are there to do for old retired dudes?

How obvious is it I am bored and mostly trying to avoid mowing the lawn and doing the associated edge trimming that has not been done at all this year?

Not exactly sure.
Stopped to use a restroom and parked just a smidge from the jolly green giant. There is a steady flow of people going up to it and taking pictures.

Having been around here so much, never realized it was a big deal or ever took a picture.

They expect me to leave my family and can't even offer free booze? Because I'd leave my family for free booze.

That's the way I was with the Field of Dreams. Didn't actually go there until I was in college when a buddy insisted on going (well, drive thru the parking lot), have never actually stepped on the field.

Are you in Le Sueur? Is that the French pronunciation of "The Sewer" or the Iowa equivalent of "The Siouxer"?
