Ah, hell. Good news is they found my Kindle at the hotel in amsterdam and got an email from their lost and found group on how to get it back.

Bad news is the email is in Dutch.

Edit: oops, tabbed down further and there is an English version!

Some faith in humanity restored.

Free food to move back to Iowa? Is this the one downtown or the country club out by you? Is there free booze? What kind of free food? What kind of free booze? Will there be "dancers"? Do I have to dress up? Can I bring my kids and will somebody else watch them and entertain them?

These are all important questions. I'm trying to remember the last thing I did that didn't involve free booze. Seems like there are tons of events with at least free beer nowadays.

And that rebuilt dam in Delhi I was opposed to?

Speaking of which. The Marina there doesn't rent boats. That is fine I will take my money elsewhere.

OH! I also saw that I think this Saturday is a big event thing at the white water park.

Hey, I have always wondered what the Minneapolis Club is like on the inside when I walk by it. We totes should go.

I'll ask for you family guys "So, what do you Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance folks suggest saying to our kids when we tell them we are moving to Iowa?"

Yes, we should all go. Hell it's Minneapolis club so am sure the appetizers will be good. Chances are we will be only ones to show up. Think I was there once many moons ago for an ISU prez reception.

By the way, I did finally get an invite to that Meet the President and tell us how much you are going to donate event that you told us about. I got my invite significantly later. I must not be on the top of their list of big donors.

Not entirely. After spending almost a grand at that hotel it's costing me $39 Euros to cover the postage....probably about what that old Kindle is worth.

so  to  to

Truthfully I am at a lower tier of the Order of the Knoll folks but been pretty consistent over the years. They asked me (not at the event...that was low key) if I knew my total lifetime giving and I said I had no idea. The number they told me kinda surprised me. They keep track of this stuff. It just means I am old. :(

Ask them what CR has to offer and if they are ever going to actually do anything with Mt Trashmore.

Still waiting on mine. With all my donations* I feel taken for granted.

*This includes no donations in about 10 years

Got home. Two more messages about the IRS suing me. The best was a couple of weeks ago when they recommended that I get a lawyer and they could only wish me good luck if I didn't.
