Not exactly sure.
Just about two hours from the west side/Overland Park area where there are plenty of hotels. Add 20-45 minutes to get to the NE side of KC. FYI 70 is a toll road from basically the west side of KC to Topeka with the toll booths being just east of Lawrence and at the toll exit on the east side of Topeka for you. We had a KTag so we didn't really pay attention.

On your way home on I-70 at mile marker 190 there is a bridge. That is where we got spun out and slid backwards across three lanes of memorial day traffic and came to a stop a foot from the bridge support. Neither of us or the dog had as much as a bruise. That is your cool story bro moment of the day.

Is there any part to avoid? Looking to grab a cheap hotel late Friday on the backside of Kansas City and move out quick. Bonner springs area pops up. The name Bonner concerns me.

So I've been gone a week on an island in Lake Superior hunting, and I come back to find RTT a complete mess. CG banned, nobody knows that David and Shaun Cassidy were Shirley Jones' kids (although I give some of you a pass based on age), Pants has turned into some sort of demon child/regular guy combo, and so on.

But on the good side, I managed to follow our Cyclones on my cell phone, and they were a perfect 4-0 while I was gone! (FB and MBB) It's great to be back with you guys again.

I think that is a good area. It is right up by the speedway/casino/outlet mall/Sporting Park.

We always took 35 South-29 North-635 South-70West. Not much longer than going to downtown and avoid the cluster that is 35 interchanges downtown. @coolerifyoudid may have some better suggestions though.

@coolerifyoudid. How far is Kstate from Kansas City? Trying to decide if I go Friday night, stay sat night or do the one dayer.

You should be able to get from KC to Manhattan in two hours. Traffic is gonna be light here today, with half the city off work, so I wouldn't even factor that in to your route, honestly. If you want to avoid downtown, you can take 35 down and go west on Hwy 152 to 435 and drop south. We usually go that way to and from Des Moines anymore.

As far as motels, there are a number of them out by the Legends area (435 and 70) on the west side. And there are shops and a bunch of restaurants out there as well. Just a little east of there are a couple motels off I-70 and 78th street that will be cheaper than the ones out by Legends (I think there's a Comfort Inn and a Holiday Inn Express).

Bonner Springs is about 10 minutes from my house. It's one of of those outskirt towns that hasn't quite gotten swallowed up by the suburban sprawl. It's got a small town feel that I kinda like. The Super 8 and Holiday Inn Express out there by K7 and I-70 have a bit more of a truck-stoppy feel to them as they are right off the interstate and right next to a waffle house. I've never been to either, but I think that Holiday Inn Express is the newer of the two.

Why does auto correct change a perfectly good word into something else, yet will leave a misspelled word alone?
I just sent a text to a guy to get his timecard complete.
As soon as I hit send I see it was changed to timeshare

Talked with CG tonight. Can confirm she’s still alive. She did say she started stripping though, so I think she’s taking this ban thing pretty hard.

I'm not a morning person and with 6 1/2 to 7 hour drive, am thinking taking off and driving to K city on Friday and then coming home after the game.

I'd second that get in Fri. nite early, Joe's KC BBQ for supper and hit up the beer hall at Boulevard. Jack Stack would also be an acceptable option for supper. I'd suggest LC's BBQ but that neighborhood might be kind of sketchy after dark.

Did you go out Isle Royal hunting? I've always thought it would be cool to go out there
