GTO glad your mom is as ok as can be.

CG hope you keep getting better. Nice kickball update.

Trip to Mo. for business was ok. The supper the company picked up was good Chris McD's was the name of the restaurant (I think), Really good steaks, semi upscale, had a really good super smooth medium dark stout. It was kind of pricey all the way up to flat out expensive, but even the kind of pricey was very good.

ISU niece and I attended the FB game, it was all fun other than the game itself. In the 4th qtr she said to me "at least we have BB coming up" Best thing I learned at the game was that Hilton Madness is Oct. 13 7pm if I remember right.

Went to Dr. today for a physical since I hadn't been for a while. As long as blood work come back good I'm good for a while. Asked him about all the hep C commercials you see, he explained it to me so then I said " as long as wasn't sharing needles and mainlining Heroin back then I should be ok?" He laughed and said yeah pretty much.

Sad I missed the great pongid take over of 2017, glad all is back to normal (as normal as RTT gets.:))

kickball - IDK. Got coworker to sub for us even though she didn't want to. I is good negotitater. But she scored and I didn't so I'm never inviting that ***** again. (I keed, mostly.)

I had an excellent first kick and got on base. Then DH got me to second. Next person pushed me to third. I got confused though and started to run for home but went back to third. Ran into the guy on base. I was hit with the ball at some point and was like ****, I screwed that up. But ref called block in the back or something????? Isn't that a football thing???? So I got to stay on third. Ok! Second chances!

Next person is up and DH (on 2nd) is like "CG, no outs" like that was supposed to mean something to me. Person kicks and pops it up. I start running cause you know, double down on stupid or something. They catch the ball and I try to run back to third. I didn't make it. Then I realize what DH was trying to tell me. That I stay on third. Person kicking should be sacrificed before me. But I was trying to be nice like where would person kicking go??? I must run! DH was much disappoint. DH and girl behind him eventually score. But not me.

I get to third the next time too and I think I got hit running for home. I got hit by the ball a lot last night. Think I kept my kicks on the ground every time, which was good. But after those two times that I got to third base, it was all me not able to outrun the ball to first. My little legs.

Other people had some good kicks but I don't remember details so who cares! Oh, there was one point where one of our guys failed to run to third, then was forced out at third but he didn't realize it so he stayed on second and girl coming from first also needed to be on 2nd so DH was yelling at girl to get on 2nd and guy to go away. 'Twas confusing.

Oh, I had to go pee cause we'd had beer beforehand and I warned DH that I was scared of the far away dark and scary bathroom and he's like meh, you'll be fine. Other team heard my concerns and were like "you'll be ok!!"

I got back and not 5 minutes later THERE WAS A COP WITH FLASHING LIGHTS UP AT THAT BATHROOM! I COULD HAVE BEEN STOLEN OR SOMETHING! Also it was out of paper towels so I had to wave my hands running back to not have wet hands. Ick.

Umm, DH scored twice, we ended up winning 6-3 so it was good. The other team was fun. One of our guys tried to boot the ball and hit it right into the catcher girl. If she'd have been male, she'd now be sterile. As it stood, she was like oooooooo this was painful. But she's ok.

One of our girls had an amazing catch on a deep kick. DH and other guy were running up and she was like ***** please, I got this. Smooth as butter. Well, not really cause if it were butter, she'd have dropped it. Smooth as something sticky.

So that is that.

That time when having wet hands is on par with being abducted.

Wow...gone for around 40 hours, and things go crazy...

Glad GTO's mom's doing as well as she can be, sorry CG's sick, and glad all avatars have been returned to their rightful owners.

Seeing these HOF pics...I'm wondering if I could get away with wearing heels still. Angie Welle does...why can't I?
Imagine it from my perspective...it was bizarre! I would read something & think "wait, I didn't say that!"

Due to sickness and my eye issue my dentist appointment has been rescheduled 3-4 times. Have that next week. When I went to my eye doctor for my eye he mentioned I'm overdue for for annual eye exam so I have that this month as well as my regular doctor checkup.
Not looking forward to October even though it's my birthday month.

Not exactly sure.
Who doesn't update grades right when they finish grading something? That's step 1 to avoiding this kind of situation, or any other situation that leaves things confusing or in doubt.

It also ensures that you don't suddenly have a billion grades to update and no time to do it. That's no good for anybody.

This HS has over half the teachers that don't get grades done timely. I used to have a full time job, farm on the side, take 3-4 computer programming credit hours, have a newborn in the house, lecture 5 hours two times a week and still get grades handled by next class period.

Edit: teacher put his midterm as a D- so it made him eligible. But still no excuse for sitting on assignments. Also found out more, apparently she lost a couple of his assignments and he had to redo them. I thought he kept working on this one forever after being done.

The dislike was just for the teacher dinking around. Glad the teacher at least fixed things enough to correct the eligibility issue.

Ours who don't enter grades tend to coincide with just being not great teachers too. Biology I and II teacher is one of them. Oldest kid said he got really ticked he didn't get the head wrestling coaching job when it opened up,and he would spend all of class looking for other jobs on the internet and tell them to read a chapter from a book and fill out a worksheet. That was in 2005 and he's still at our school not really doing anything well. Meanwhile the Chemistry I and II/Physics teacher is super organized, brilliant, a great communicator, and enters grades daily. It's pretty hit or miss.

I won like 3 Amazon gift cards reading CF this morning! Had to switch browsers so I could let someone else win one for once.

Went to the HS football game last night (only stayed through halftime). We used to have a really good football team the last few years, but all the athletic football players are gone. We had guys that walked on at ISU or play at Grandview. I think in a few years we should have some football talent again.

Not sure if it is fairly typical to have football players on the Homecoming court, but ours had none. The two senior athletes on the court were a golfer (3A state champion last year) and a baseball player (being recruited by D1 schools). I really didn't know the kids crowned King and Queen. Our freshman didn't even vote because she didn't know any, either.

I'm far from impressed with our HS. This town is more concerned with athletics than academics. I know I may mention the athletic side here but figure it's may be more interesting than saying my son got a 92 on his chem test and just couldn't nail down the fifth electron orbit. This town is full of inbreeders, literally. They never leave because they peaked in HS, so they all live as 16-19 year olds mentally. They don't talk about their families and job when together, they all talk about their glory days. So when it comes to teachers, if you are local, you jump to the front of the line. Then they can't figure out their issues because a bad teacher learned from another bad teacher. The football coach made fun of academics in a parent meeting, been coaching 50 years, 10 years too long.

Anyone ever have their air ducts cleaned? Was it worth it?

Personal opinion is it is BS unless your house is really really old. It's a racket/scam. I've demo'd ducts that had been in place for 40 years and they were not dirty/dusty. More important to have a good modern quality furnace filter (the nice 4" thick pleated dudes) and change it frequently. I run my furnace fan 24/7 to keep air circulating for the last 15 years and the new ducts added in 2002 are very clean.

Of course the cold air returns will be dusty as it is sucking in unfiltered air but what real difference is that making? What matters is the forced air ducts on the other side of your blower and filter.

I would do it once after a few years if you just built the house or put a new complete system in. We did and it just cleaned up what was left during installation. Otherwise we don't seem to have much if anything.
