So I am running this new program through EAA aimed at getting adults who have thought about learning to fly but never taken the next step. So far I have one person signed up to participate. I came and set up a table to advertise it at a local fly-in/ Drive in breakfast. No one has showed interest. So this has been an exciting morning.
No offense but I'd be more likely to sign up if she was the recruiter for this type of thing.

Wherever I go, there I am.
Picking up apples out of the yard is the correct answer to this.

Played two games of charity kickball on Saturday, then was at the Tulip Time festival for around 8 hours. Still. So. Sore. My legs I understand, but my back at my shoulders? I was playing 2nd base, and if I had a ground ball to me, I'd chest pass it to 1st basketball-style. (More accurate than an overhand baseball throw) Between the two games, I unfortunately missed probably 3 or 4 pop-ups towards me. Bleh. I did catch one for the final out of an inning. I'm just used to the _very_ limited softball I've played, and the physics of how a softball will travel/fall.

Oh, I did get on-base at least twice, and got an RKI (Run Kicked In). And, just about took out the first baseman of the other team because she was standing RIGHT on top of the base. I would have won that collision, too.

This has been your Lame Substitute of a Kickball Update Since @cowgirl836 Actually Swallowed a Kickball. ;)
You need more disparaging descriptions of the opponents or of your teammates if your goal is to rival the Nesting Cow's kickball missives.

I was not nearly as helpful as I planned to be yesterday. Thankfully my mom did a lot and two friends came later on for a couple hours (mostly for baby shower stuff) and they then helped too. Poor DH spent a loooooooooot of time out doing landscape stuff this weekend. And we're still not done :( They kept making me sit down yesterday which was probably good since I was still fairly weak and dehydrated. But I wanted to help, dangit! Then about 3pm, I got just this awful, awful pain in my ribs. That was about when friends came over and I couldn't even care. I was lying on the bed trying not to just cry and figure out how in the world to make it stop. Before I had gone inside my mom said I bet there's a foot up there and to try massaging it. Like what, how could a foot cause this?? But after some stretching and stuff I could sort of improve it. But if I started moving around again, it came back.

So I hobbled outside mostly to sit and chat (again, feeling super lazy and unhelpful) before it got really bad again as people were leaving. I was lying on the couch when I remembered reading online that if the baby gets somewhere uncomfortable (like your bladder!!!) you can put an ice pack there and get them to move. Figured I had nothing to lose so I tried it. Holy crap, it worked! I felt human again! I could walk around. Even though I'd promised my mom I'd stay inside and off my feet the rest of the night, I went back out and helped DH a bit before remembering we needed groceries and left for that. With the ice pack on the whole time. 10/10 do not recommend baby feet in your ribs.

This kid, I went through two packs last night because as the first one thawed, they started moving back in. Then when I put the new cold one on, the little stinker kicked it for several minutes before giving up. And yes, I brought one to work today in case they decide to try it again.

And today DH turns 30 and he started the day very sore and tired from the past three days. Poor guy.

Speaking of aging, I survived my birthday party this weekend. Here is my favorite card.

I received this to make me feel better about myself.

Don't worry about me getting a big head. My youngest daughter made sure I stayed grounded.

I remember my 50th. she threw a surprise party (which actually was a surprise). I got lots of "getting old" type gifts, the best one was a bottle of Big Boner pills ("Get a Stiffy in a Jiffy"). I saved them for when I will need them.

Ah, yes...the old foot stuck under the rib cage trick. One of my boys was VERY adept at that!

You could have said "concubine". Just as descriptive, but less alarming to the ears.

Oh oh oh! I did call my husband a "hooker" when he went to the plate. (He's a lefty) First time I ever heard that term was several years ago when he played slow-pitch softball. Us WAGS (wives and girlfriends) in the bleachers just looked at each other, and I said "Okay then."

This just sounds so, so, so incredibly uncomfortable. Owie.

Rode with some old friends yesterday. They are really slow. I am in an awkward place, too fast for my age peer friends and too slow for my younger alumni biker friends. Seems it's going to be a summer of George Thorogood rides (I Bike Alone).

Sightings I Spy Report:
Mile 5: Red/white corgi
Mile 6: Vintage red Triumph Spitfire
Mile 13: Brindle basenji (stopped to chat)
Mile 15: Gun nut protesters walking the lake path with yuge flag which was blowing in the wind and hitting other walkers. Think they were enjoying the obnoxiousness of that. ********.
Mile 16: Vintage gray Triumph Spitfire.
