Something about my kids causes their mothers to need to be induced. Haven't had one who wasn't high risk so far. Oh well.

When we walked in to the hospital to check in, the nurse looked at my wife and said, "Are you a little worried about the size of dad's head?" My wife responded, "NOW I AM!" Funny, but also not funny.

3rd kid actually ended up being on the small side but has chunked up since then. All three kids eventually were in the 95th percentile or higher for head circumference of course.

I think the RTT Ladies have mentioned this before, but each labor is so different compared to each person. There are the obvious things that are generalized, but the experience is different to everyone. With Z I learned that some of her kicks were actually contractions, but both times I never really felt anything until they broke the water. I think I had a slightly bad reaction to the epidural. I think my blood pressure went pretty low and they had to adjust things. I just remember from around that point had mainly had to concentrate on singing carols to myself to not freak out until I could push.

the water breaking question really struck me - because she was asking as if there's a specific point at which the water always breaks. And I'm sitting there thinking well it can happen before contractions really start or all the way at the end as you're delivering the calf and then realized well CG, not everyone probably realizes that which is why she's asking.

When Alana was born, I was taking pictures in the room - like, hundreds of them. Finally the vixen got pissed off and told me to go home. :(

OMG, I forgot - in the second video we watched, the one lady had like 3 family members in there with camera phones going. DH is like that's what you want, right? I was telling him holy crap, how many people did she need (at ground zero!!) recording that! DH pointed out that well, she was having the birth recorded as part of this video so clearly she wasn't shy about it. Also, she was holding on to a man who was helping her breathe through contractions and it was like oh that's nice, wait, DH, that's not her husband. Camera pans out and there's the spouse in another part of the room. So we were both wondering who the dude was then. Wasn't dressed in scrubs at all so not a nurse.

My advice to DH is: you dun messed up. You can’t take this back now.

I've told him if he thought marriage was permanent, this really is. You're tied to me for child support for the next 18 years. And now there's going to be a person out there that's half your genetics..........but also half mine :D He's like I hope they get the "normal" genes. I'm like nah, they're gonna meow.

I thought your avatar was just a caricature illustration, but now I learn it is actually true to life.

Sadly, it is true. MY 10 and 9 year olds have both been wearing adult sized hats for years! 20 month old can't get on some shirts if the neck is too tight.

The struggle is real!

I told my wife, big head, big brain.

A friend named Todd was driving my daughter and his daughter. This band came on the radio and he told the girls, "You should like this band. It's named Big Head Todd and the Monsters." My daughter did not like the music and started referring to both my friend and the band as "Big-Headed Todd Monsters".

I remember virtually everything from both my girls births but the thing my wife talks about the most is the nurses we had when our oldest was born back in 2000.

Every nurse we passed on the trip through the maternity ward to our birthing room was an easy "10". When we got to our room her exact quote was "Why are all these hot chicks around when I'm all fat and gross". Being the smart and wise man that I am, I made zero comments on the situation other than to tell my wife she was doing great and I loved her.

A few minutes later, probably most attractive female we had ever seen in person walks in and tells us that she is our nurse for the duration of our labor. My wife virtually never swears - but she just looked at me and then looked at the nurse and says out loud "Are you ****ing kidding me!"

Everything went perfectly regarding the birth but even 17 years after the fact, if any discussion of childbirth ever comes up in any setting, all my wife will talk about is how good looking all the nurses were and how "whale-like" she felt.

This one is just the opposite of the hot nurse story...

When my oldest was born the younger delivery nurses and the doctor were trying to guess the baby's weight. They were all in the 6-7 lbs. range. The old delivery nurse who probably had more experience than all of them combined proclaimed that they were all wrong, "that is an 8 pound baby." They put her on the scale and she was 7lbs. 15 oz. I felt like we were in good hands.

That's great. You handled it much better than most would, congrats on that. Nothing would be worse than being caught checking out the nurse during your wife's labor.

There were some very nice and friendly nurses during the births of my three boys, but no smoke shows.

My wife's OB in Wichita and then the resident that delivered LittleWx were very attractive. I was disappointed when we moved...
