Hard lib country Cerro Gordo looks ruby red to me.
County wise, Clear lake is very red, the other small towns around it, like Rockwell or hanlontown like are redder yet. MC is now what? 25k population (been contracting quite a bit) with Cerro Gordon with roughly 45k population? Using those numbers it would probably place MC around a 60/40 split dem/rep. Less than I originally estimated, but far from conservative.
@cyrocksmypants : Is this 2 days in a row for the "go understand history" thing?
They’re getting bolder and bolder with it. I mean, this one literally said the founding fathers didn’t mean what they said in the constitution, but that’s why we should respect his warped interpretation of the constitution. Really remarkable.
I mean, no offense, but I’m sure you don’t know EVERYTHING about all history, but I’m still going to go ahead and default to you just like I’m going to default to @CloneLawman when it comes to legal interpretations, even though I’m sure he doesn’t know everything about law.
Of course not. Plus, I rarely opine. I'm tempted to post some links to articles that explain equal protection and substantive due process analysis in some of the threads commenting upon Supreme Court opinions, but I'm damned busy right now. They’re getting bolder and bolder with it. Dude. I'm a lawyer. I don't just do tax. Part of it is getting caught up on stuff that had to go on the back burner during tax season. What the hell are you busy doing right now?! It’s June! Finishing up K1s or something?
Sorry, I haven't been posting guys. I was on vacation, then swearing in, then moving, and I just started my new job today. What have I missed on here?
Also, how do you make friends with people your own age as an adult? Because I'll probably be at this job for the foreseeable future and I'd like to have friends I can go do stuff with. Granted, I've been here less than a week, but I still have that nagging fear
edit: also, happy super belated birthday, CG!

The problem is most of my coworkers are older. One of my classmates was also hired by the same firm, and he has a kid, but everyone else is at least a little bit older. One of them did say he'd introduce me to the softball team he used to play for.OO! Oooo! I know this one! Join rec sportsIt is volleyball season right now - there's probably 5 bars in your area doing a summer sand league. Ask the youngish coworkers (if you have any) at your office.
1. stories to entertain us
2. to make fwiends

One question: if you want to play in rec league, but don't have a team, is it typical for them to be willing to assign you to a team or do you need to come with a team?
Ok, I'll definitely need to email the rec leagues about that then! Because even though I haven't been here long, I'm starting to feel lonely, and I think it's less the lack of human contact, and more the stress/fear that I will remain friendless here (which would be a shame because if I met a girl who wanted to stay here & it was good for my career after a few days I could potentially see myself here for my career)Free agents are how we made at least two of our friends. Depending on the sport, some are easier than others. Kickball, for example. That one was in higher need of free agents because you needed at least 10 for a team.

Also, rec leagues/friends would allow me to meet girls who I could then seduce with my sensuous bagpiping.
Also also (but unrelated): now that I've graduated I now have a desire to watch the local news. I feel like that's a sign that I'm old.
