Iowa
ISU QB Tiers since 2000
Tier 1- Purdy, Wallace, Rosenfels
Tier 2- Meyer
Gap
Tier 3- Arnaud, Becht
Tier 4- Kempt, Jantz, Richardson, Dekkers, Park
Tier 5- Barnett, Flynn, Lanning
Tier 6- Tiller, Bates, Mitchell, Noland, Rohach
Tier 7- Love, Terry
Rationale: First tier is obvious. Purdy may be a tier to himself but we shouldn't let his NFL success distract from how inconsistent he was while at ISU. Meyer is ahead of everyone else behind him in tier 2.
Arnaud might be higher here than most would have him but I'm keeping in mind the terrible offensive ecosystem he had to operate in for most of his time.

Rohach missing.

It’s amusing to me to see some of you arguing about how so-and-so had better receivers, or a better OL, or a better RB than some other prominent Cyclone QB did.

Well, the truth of the matter is, Rocco is about to have a deeper, more talented receiving corps than Brock ever did. He’s got a far more talented OL than Brock ever did. And while there may not be a Breece Hall on the field, the RB room is likely deeper than it ever was when Breece the Beast was roaming between the stripes.

The funny part being, twenty years from now, those of you who just graduated will be having these exact same arguments with the folks who are current students—while the folks who are currently in their forties now will just sit back and nod their gray heads knowingly…on whatever iteration of Cyclone Fanatic exists a couple of decades from now.

Only, it will be over whether Brock or Rocco was better.

See ya then!

Crap, I completely forgot about Arnaud. Rocco will be top 5 probably after this year. Didn't Jantz beat Iowa twice?
He did. He was great in his first game and was pretty good the second one. So that is def worth something and I can see why people have him pretty high.

A few great peaks with Steele and some low valleys.

Jantz vs. Iowa, 2011 and 2012 combined: Passing: 49-for-73, 520 yards, 5 TDs, 2 INT. Rushing: 30 for 82.

Not mind-boggling, but productive.

Upon further consideration, I suspect that Rocco is going to break all of Brock’s single season records this fall.

And that accomplishment would put him squarely at #2 on this list.

I like this a lot....but I don't see RB at the same level as BP, pro-level.

Been around Cyclone awhile.
Don't see how anybody could argue against "BP#1."
Sure as ****, he drove all of us NUTS at times.
All the other's combined?
Drove me to insanity (George Amundson aside).
