Best player in the country came in at #45

45. Aaron White, Iowa -- He's an athletic combo forward who averaged 16 points and 7.5 boards for the Hawkeyes this season.

103. Jarrod Uthoff, Iowa -- The skilled junior forward can shoot the 3 and had a strong season, averaging 12.3 points and 6.3 boards.

"Moves like Jordan" at 157

157. Peter Jok, Iowa -- The sophomore wing averaged 7 points per game.

So does that make Aaron still one of the best players in the country or...

Well with the way hok fans continually widened the goalposts in the other thread I'm assuming that since he's on a team in the NCAA tournament he's "elite" and "one of the best players in the country".

Cyclones: 8, 26, 64, 98, 99

Panthers: 11, 166, 205, 230, 234

hawkeyes: 45, 103, 157, 179, 189

Using these rankings and the S-curve, here are the teams comparable to each player (dividing their ranking by 5) because I'm curious about this worthless exercise:

Niang: Villanova
Morris: Arizona
McKay: North Carolina
Hogue: UNI
Long: UNI

Tuttle: Duke

White: Iowa State
Uthoff: SMU
Jok: San Diego State
Gessel: Purdue
Woodbury: Davidson

Iowa State average: Notre Dame
UNI average: Oklahoma State
Iowa average: Iowa (pretty good job)

"26. Monte Morris, Iowa State -- Few take care of the ball better than the Cyclones' underrated floor leader. He has 172 assists to just 35 turnovers this season."

FEW take care of the ball better!?! How bout NO ONE takes care of the ball better.

And by no one we mean no one is within what, 30-40% of his assist/TO ratio? He's a PG, and not knowing how impressive this stat is makes the entire rating system suspect.
Still fun to read.
