Re: Rashad Vaughn

If we had played in March, we would have won. Jusss sayin'. Heck, Georges only played 14 minutes in that game. Korie and Will were still trying to figure out their roles in November.

I disagree. We were in the exact same boat as you. We were probably more inexperienced as you and had many role identities. Khem Birch would have handled everything around the basket defensively, but he was a mid season trasnfer.

People just see first round loss in the tourney. We played @CAL in early december and escaped with a buzzer beating win.
Somehow they managed to get a 12 seed in San Jose (30 mins from their campus) and we play them again.
That was a terrible draw.
Imagine if you guys managed to get a 5 seed and play Cincy again, but 30 mins from their campus. Or UNLV again...in Vegas again. You'd be ******.
Excuse, eh sure. However, that was a good CAL team IMO. I love Cobbs, Crabbe and Solomon game. Much better than the same seeds as an Akron team? ha.

I dont know how UNLV is even a question, Real Conference vs. **** conference. I think the choice is obviously ISU.

Are we talking football or basketball?
Basketball wise Kansas puts you over the top.
Other than that we beat a ranked Kansas St team multiple times a couple years ago.
Oklahoma went 11-7 in the Big 12 last year...then got blown out in the tourney last year vs SDSU who went 9-7 in the MWC.
New Mexico went into Cincinnatti (Who beat you here in Vegas) and beat them in their own building as the #8 team in the nation.
Boise St went into Michigan St and lost by 4...after leading and needing a miracle from MSU guards. Then after that they went into #11 Creighton and blew em out.
Colorado St. blew out Missouri.
****....even Wyoming beat #19 Colorado.

MWC had 4 ranked teams during the course of the season. Big 12 had? 2? 3?

Just educate yourself a little bit. Expand your horizons. Big 12 football is where it's at. You aren't the ACC or Big 10. MWC RPI wise was the best conference in the nation. We just threw a dud in the tourney which hurt.

Or Ohio St in Dayton?......

The "twice in one year" argument is dumb. You play a lot of teams two times in the same season. Advantage usually goes to the better team.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

How is UNLV playing dirty? You honestly think we are only recruiting his dad and Kaffey? You're high. Vaughn is driving the boat and his dad and Kaffey are just passengers. If you want all 3 to buy in you have to talk up all 3.

Kaffey will not be on UNLV's bench or a university employee. He'll probably stay at Findlay as an assistant coach. Findlay is a prep school. Prep schools recruit just like colleges. Prep school brought in Kaffey to support Vaughn.
It is in Kaffey's interest to what school Vaughn chooses, but it's not his choice. He can only guide Vaughn to the right choice.

Well you guys should have cared. You lost by 12 last November against 2 starting freshman, a transfer, a 3 year SG who had to play PG, and didn't even play against the MWC defensive player of the year.

jusss sayin'

Of course you gloss over the fact it was an early season game for us, and we replaced most of our scoring from the previous year, but you guys had a heck of a team last year. Too bad no one east of the rockies actually saw them play. Seriously, you should look up some of the ratings, or lack thereof, for UNLV basketball last year. Thats the reason the casual sports fan went "Who?" when Bennet was selected. Meanwhile we had some pretty highly rated and entertaining games last year, and our coach is a hot commodity and rising star. And really that what it comes down to, Fred. It's really the only thing that sets us apart. Given how Vaughn almost always mentions relationship with the coach at the top of his priorities, and what high regard it is reported he holds Fred, I like our chances. But I don't see a lot of people on here who consider him anywhere close to a "lock". A lot can happen, and he does choose either ISU or UNLV I think it will be in the spring. That a long time for our two fan bases to have a ******* match on message boards.

You played Ohio St. in the first round? #2 seed plays in their backyard...you new to CBB?
CAL was the better TEAM. They had veterans who played with each other for over 3 years...including a first rounder. Mike Montgomery is helluva X's and O's coach.

And yes you do play a lot of teams 2 times...in your own conference or rivalry home and homes with OOC teams.

My argument is "dumb" but you reply with that.

I'm not new to CBB. It's the same situation as you playing Cal right next to Cal. Who cares what round it is? It's the same situation.

Also, Go Rashad!

You seem lost. 5 seed playing in a 12 seeds back yard (1st rnd) is same thing as you being a 10 seed playing in a 2 seeds backyard. (2nd rnd)

dat logic dough.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Why do we just keep feeding the troll? Ignore him and hopefully it will go away.

I'm just responding to the UNLV bashing. How is that trolling?

I came in here saying UNLV is a contender with Vaughn and the reasoning behind it. I didn't just barge in here putting ISU down.
I liked your roster last year. When you guys pouted after the CIN and UNLV losses all I was telling to the fans I sat next to was that you guys were a tourney team. You could shoot and rebound. That's a good recipe.

Agreed. Somene should make an official "UNLV fan ******* match thread" and clear this **** the hell out of our Rashad Vaughn thread.

I'm fine with that.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Take your stupid pi$$ing match somewhere else. I'll start a thread for you.

All I do is respond. Please re-read the thread. The only ******* match is from a few ISU guys. It's like they can't take an outside opinion on Vaughn so they resort to bashing another program.
