Re: Rashad Vaughn
I disagree. We were in the exact same boat as you. We were probably more inexperienced as you and had many role identities. Khem Birch would have handled everything around the basket defensively, but he was a mid season trasnfer.
People just see first round loss in the tourney. We played @CAL in early december and escaped with a buzzer beating win.
Somehow they managed to get a 12 seed in San Jose (30 mins from their campus) and we play them again.
That was a terrible draw.
Imagine if you guys managed to get a 5 seed and play Cincy again, but 30 mins from their campus. Or UNLV again...in Vegas again. You'd be ******.
Excuse, eh sure. However, that was a good CAL team IMO. I love Cobbs, Crabbe and Solomon game. Much better than the same seeds as an Akron team? ha.
Are we talking football or basketball?
Basketball wise Kansas puts you over the top.
Other than that we beat a ranked Kansas St team multiple times a couple years ago.
Oklahoma went 11-7 in the Big 12 last year...then got blown out in the tourney last year vs SDSU who went 9-7 in the MWC.
New Mexico went into Cincinnatti (Who beat you here in Vegas) and beat them in their own building as the #8 team in the nation.
Boise St went into Michigan St and lost by 4...after leading and needing a miracle from MSU guards. Then after that they went into #11 Creighton and blew em out.
Colorado St. blew out Missouri.
****....even Wyoming beat #19 Colorado.
MWC had 4 ranked teams during the course of the season. Big 12 had? 2? 3?
Just educate yourself a little bit. Expand your horizons. Big 12 football is where it's at. You aren't the ACC or Big 10. MWC RPI wise was the best conference in the nation. We just threw a dud in the tourney which hurt.
If we had played in March, we would have won. Jusss sayin'. Heck, Georges only played 14 minutes in that game. Korie and Will were still trying to figure out their roles in November.

I dont know how UNLV is even a question, Real Conference vs. **** conference. I think the choice is obviously ISU.
