Re: Rashad Vaughn

I honestly believe he does that to mess with people like us. Good for him too.

If I were a 17 year old kid and was getting interest from UCLA, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, Syracuse, Louisville, Georgetown, etc., there's no way I wouldn't brag about it, either. Kid needs his ego stroked sometimes, that's cool.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Was last year's team a sure bet for the Final Four if they had beat Ohio State? Of course not and NO ONE IS SAYING THAT.

False. I can't infer exaggeration in what people write only read the words they pen and people have posted here and elsewhere that ISU was a Final Four team if they didn't get "screwed". I have to assume that those people believe this, which is fine, but there's optimism, and then there's this. ISU had just as good a chance to make the Final Four as 31 other teams last year, sure, but without a healthy Babb, it would have been a handful just getting past the Wildcats in my opinion only.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I feel like what people are saying is being misinterpreted. I don't know if anyone truly thought we were a Final Four quality team, however, we were playing very well and the events in our region set us up quite nicely for a run with the team we had. Making the Final Four =/= Final Four quality team and vice versa. That's the fun of the tourney, the best don't always win

As soon as Babb went out I quit watching. I had it recorded just in case but i was sick to my stomach. Without him I believe we would have been done anyway so the loss didn't hurt me as much. That's my coping mechanism.

Gotta love all the dumbasses in here chasing a Hawk who was actually being quite complimentary to our team. You people need to learn the difference between courteous visitors and the true trolls.

A.K.A "Wild Thing"...

(reminds self to go watch that movie later today..."F U Jabu - I'll do it myself")

Speaking of Pedro Cerrano, I keep wanting him to talk about Accident Forgiveness, or add the words "at Allstate" to all of his lines in that movie.

And others need to learn the difference between cyclones and hawkeyes

You are the second person in this thread to bring that up. How bad was Babb's injury? Would he have been out for sure the following weekend for the next round?

He was out for 3-6 weeks based on his twitter, etc. So yes, he'd have been done for any further games in the tourney.

Drama queen. I consider myself overly invested, but how can anyone turn their favorite team off in the biggest game of the year? Spare me the "We are Iowa State."

Overall you are right, but this is a Rashad Vaughn thread. We went way off topic, and unless he wants to talk Rashad Vaughn he should GTFO.

Well hawkeye fans are probably upset they dont have the appeal for top prospects which is what brought them here. The only way theyre signing top 100 guys is life long hawk fans that grew up in Iowa....

Re: Rashad Vaughn

UNC player PJ Hairston was just arrested on drug charges. Probably doesn't affect anything, but it is a slight 'negative' to UNC's reputation.

stupid, no offense but just because one player on UNC's current roster did something stupid doesn't really affect recruiting all that much. We've been interested in Rashad Vaughn since he was in 8th grade and more so the last year. Tyrus McGee has been arrested twice in the last year, I doubt that did anything to Iowa State's reputation with recruits.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

To be fair though, if there was like 5 players who got arrested simultaneously then yes I'd say it affects reputation.

I was at a volleyball tournament that had a TV. I was recording at home. I watch my kids over an ISU event every time. Not sure how you get drama from not watching a game.

Note: I said 'Probably doesn't mean anything'. No offense, stupid.
