Re: Rashad Vaughn

This is another reason Vaughn should come to ISU. What Vaughn needs to do to improve his stock is show he can facilitate the offense. Ask Royce, Clyburn and Niang how well Fred can do that for non-PGs.

Nah, that's silly. 6'1 shooting guards have to show they can run the point to make it to the league; RV's 6'5, a totally legit size for SG in the NBA. All he has to do to improve his stock for the NBA is be the best total player he's capable of.

Sure, he may end up running the point in college or even in the pros but that's not what his draft stock will depend on.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

For similar reasons I think RV eliminates KU. His teammate (a 6'7" wing) is going there next year and they will likely return their entire backcourt sans Wiggins. Would Wiggins have helped his draft status going somewhere else?

Also, looks like Black, the Memphis player who transferred to KU for his senior year, may finish his career on the bench as the 5th post. If I were a transfer with only a couple years to play there is no way I am going to KU.

Do you think Black regrets going to KU yet?

It sure would not hurt though.
As a 6-5/6-6 shooting guard he is projected right now to be a first rounder in 2015. With Fred's system and help, as a 6-5/6-6 guard that has shown he can facilitate the offense and be the lead guard, and you start talking top 5. Could be a bit like D-Wade.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Anyone seen the crystal ball predictions on 247 sports lately?

Last 7 have been predicted to UK. Kinda got me nervous.

When does he have to choose by?

Those predictions were made due only to the fact he added UK back to the list. It is not based on any other info, only latest news. Most of them are UK writers and Jerry Meyer, who has changed his prediction about 3 times already, so I am taking them with a grain of salt.. But IMO, his occasional tweets surrounding ISU and Hilton are huge considering he isn't making any regarding other programs.

If you want to look into the predictions, almost all the predictions are either new or switched from UNLV to Kentucky. Only one has switched from ISU to KY and he is a KY writer.

Morris
Vaughn
Nader
McKay
Niang

You think Hogue is moving to the bench? I doubt we put a double double machine that makes minimal mistakes on the pine his senior year.

Nader/McKay would come off the bench. As would Thomas, Naz, Edozie, SDW.

Holy hell, that team (even without Vaughn) is deep.

Its hard to believe, isn't it? But remember that McKay was a much better player at Indian Hills than Hogue. I honestly don't know how it will be dealt with, but it's a point we need to remember.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Yep. He wasted his last year if he is fifth post.

That's his own fault. From what I've seen all he does is foul and he doesn't rebound or play good defense. They gave him the opportunity to be a starter an he went out and lost it.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Hogue won't be coming off the bench next year behind McKay.

Totally agree. The same goes with Thomas. It would look something more like:

Thomas, Vaughn, Hogue, Niang, Nader

Yes I realize there isn't a true PG in that lineup. It could also be:

Morris, Thomas, Vaughn, Niang, Hogue

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If I make a new thread, can we move the starting lineups debate there? I'd love to keep speculating on it, by I'd also like to keep this mostly about Mr Showtime.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I hope RV at least saw a replay of the game on Friday. He has to be loving the Atmosphere at Hilton, and thinking how much fun it would be to play at ISU!

I hope he's loving the thought of playing with players like Niang, Hogue, McKay, and Nader.
