Re: Rashad Vaughn

If my parents had a house in Minnesota, I too would pay for my ISU visit, and take official paid visits to UCLA, Florida, NYC and Hawaii. And then commit to ISU.

What I find amusing is those that thought Iowa State had no shot at Vaughn to begin with are the same ones that are all 'woe is us' now that Vaughn told a radio guy that he didn't think he would take an official to Iowa State.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Guys, ISU was widely known to be in his top 3 about a week and a half ago...settle down. We may get him, we may not but he's already visited here...he talks to Fred weekly. This (not taking an official here) doesn't matter.

How is ISU widely know to be in his top 3? I'm not sure if any non-ISU board would concur with that assessment. Not trying to be a Debbie downer, but just curious where this information is coming from.

Wolfson tweeted it literally 3 days ago. Minnesota, UNC and ISU.

I check this thread about once a week and missed that tweet, thanks for posting. Still not sure if you can deduce that those are his top 3, but it is definitely a good sign.

Ryan James has indicated he thinks ISU will be in it 'til the end (although he doesn't think we'll get the commitment). That's two media-people who have close contact with Vaughn - probably as much if not more than anyone else that suggest we're a serious player.

You are correct, you can't.

At this point everyone is just guessing, some people are more informed than others, but no one really knows. Everytime I see a tweet about Vaughn I jump on here to see the over-reaction....... And join in.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Here is Wolfson's interview with Rashad and his actual quotes on visits. As has been stated just cause he isn't taking an official visit shouldn't be read into IMO. Actually at this point I'd be suprised if he didn't have another unofficial visit to ISU during the season.

Will that be one of your visits, or do you already know a ton about Minnesota?
I can go to Minnesota anytime, so I won't take an official to Minnesota.
Same for UNLV then since you'll be in Vegas?
Yeah. I can just go over there and visit (whenever).
So, we looking at Iowa State, North Carolina, etc for visits?
Probably not Iowa State either (he took an unofficial visit there last season). I don't know for sure. I need to talk to my parents.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I doubt he comes for a weekday game. I think best case scenario is he comes March 8th against OSU after his HS season is done.

I'm not sure they like doing visits that late in the season. Generally coaches like to have their team focused on the tourney and getting to the tourney at that point. Not worrying about getting recruits the next year, and having to show them around and what have you. I could be wrong, but that would be my thought.

I could see a weekday visit on the flipside. I missed High-school classes when I was out visiting universities and doing tours as a junior/senior and I wasn't even being recruited. I imagine he will go to the games that are most interesting to him regardless of if they are a weekday or not.

Exactly. There are only so many weekends in between now and when he commits. It will be hard for him to find time to come back to Ames especially considering his time away from home (Vegas) will make it even harder.

I don't like our odds if we don't get another visit from him. It's easy to see how you could get caught up in the moment when you visit 5 blue bloods and the roll out the red carpet.

However it sounds like there is still a chance he'll visit here officially.
