Re: Rashad Vaughn

Gopherhole is still full of denial. They say Fred was never offered the Minnesota job, another said Fred was very close to taking the job, then more say ISU is only on the list because RV respects Fred and that it will ultimately be between UM, UNLV and blue bloods. It's so funny, you would think reading their forum they were Syracuse or something. What a bunch of losers.

They're jealous that we have a better young coach than them. Any Minnesota fan that thinks they stand a chance is laughable. They probably think they're going to get Tyus Jones, too (who is obviously going to Duke). Let me guess, Minnesota fans think they're getting Travis, too. Brand new coach that is completely unproven, projected to finish dead last in their conference, and no recruits signed up for next year, but somehow they think they stand a chance with all of these guys. These Gopher fans are embarrassing themselves. For goodness sake, they couldn't even make the tournament in 2011-12 when they had such a loaded roster, yet they still think they're better than us. It's also laughable when they discount Hoiberg. I guarantee you if he had taken the job at Minnesota (which, let's face it, he will never take unless ISU fires him and the NBA doesn't want him), that Minnesota fans would be jizzing their pants right now. Gopher basketball is an absolute joke, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Pitino is unproven, and that's why they won't get any blue chip recruits until he has a year or two of proven experience. Gopher fans = douchetards.

That board reminds me a lot of this one a few years back when a hometown kid had strung us along to the end and everyone outside of Ames was predicting he'd go to one of the blue bloods.

But he did. Was Minnesota one of the favorites and this board was lying to themselves about it?

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Nothing wrong with Gopher fans thinking they have a shot at Vaughn. There IS something wrong with them thinking Fred has not shot at Vaughn.

Personally, I don't think RV picks MN, but they're fans, just like I'm a fan - and they're allowed to think they have a shot.

I still think that was a different type of scenario. Maybe because I didn't follow the recruitment of HB as much as now with RV.

As an Iowa State fan, but somewhat of an outsider to the whole situation, I never reallyfelt like we had a legit chance at HB. Coming off a pretty bad stretch of losing, much like Minn. now, we seemed like more of a long shot.

The major difference here is the coaching. McDoormat had us wallowing in under-utilized talent, while CFH has utilized his team's talent to the tune of 2 straight NCAA appearances (and wins in those tourneys).

Re: Rashad Vaughn

It's nice how outsiders outside of Iowa State fans/reporters/writers/etc. think we are going to land Vaughn. Even Kentucky fans think we're going to land Vaughn. What's different about this versus HB is that people outside of the state of Iowa actually think we are going to get Vaughn, when nobody outside of Iowa thought we were going to land Barnes (screw that *********). This goes to show how much respect other schools (including the big bloods) have for Iowa State. Minnesota fans are just so stupid that they think they're better than us, have a better coach, yet NOBODY outside of the state of Minnesota thinks they have any chance with Vaughn.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I just ventured off to the UNC scout board. Wish me luck, lol.

Let me know what they say about our chances with Vaughn. There's that one annoying UNC fan that always comes on this board and tells us now that he thinks we're going to land Vaughn and that UNC is out. My best guess is Robert Johnson signs with UNC and UNC backs off of Vaughn. Doesn't UNC also still have Marcus Paige? Vaughn would probably start over Paige his senior year, but Paige would probably get a ton of playing time and take minutes from Rashad.

You know how everyone always pictures the other CF posters as their avatar pictures, well now we all look the same.

McDermott's own son didn't even want to play for his Dad at ISU. That says something about the state of the program at that time. Why would HB go to ISU when Doug didn't even want to go to ISU?
