"Group Think" is like the ubiquitous question at committee meeting, "What do you think?", another way of saying "Share your ignorances".

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

I can see why he would want to play for a coach that has all this talent and loses to the likes of UCSB, Air Force, Illinois on a horrible year and get blown out by Colorado State....and not to mention never play on TV and in front of a horrible crowd but money talks i guess. I hope we still have a chance here but if not no big deal we will still be an outstanding team next year!

I consider the Wyoming game a loss also even though it was 50-49.

Re: Rashad Vaughn - Announcing Tuesday

Over/under on the announcement getting pushed back at least once more?

I think he delayed it from last Saturday to Tuesday for television purposes. I doubt he delays it again and makes a tv network mad. Then again RV is the king of delaying deadlines he sets himself.

To answer your question, I'd say the odds are 51/49 in favor of actually announcing.

Oh crap, DandyCyclone is putting odds of him announcing tomorrow. Vegas is the odds capital of the world. He's definitely going to UNLV now. I have sources (DandyCyclone)

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but Rashad Vaughn contains 3/4 letters in UNLV, while only containing 2/4 letters in Ia. St. We're toast.

Lol Hoiberg's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I know we got him locked up for 10 years with a $2million buyout and all, but that's only if he goes to another school. It drops to $500,000 if it's a GM or head coach job in the pros though and he did't negotiate a lower buyout to go to the NBA if it wasn't something he was planning on doing when the time was right... unfortunately for us with all the success lately the time might be right. I can't believe that isn't weighing on Rashad Vaughn's mind.

Kind of depressing.

I'd be shocked if Hoiberg leaves after this season. In the future? Sure. So if he's here next year, that should be all Vaughn cares about. He's been pretty clear he's headed to the NBA at the first chance.

Maybe. Or maybe he wants to go to the school that had the #1 pick in last year's draft? Or maybe he wants to join two other good recruits and thinks they can restore UNLV to the glory days? Or maybe he thinks getting a high seed in the MWC is easier because they have an easier road (New Mexico last year) and less likely to stumble along the way? Or maybe he really likes living out there and just wants to stay? Maybe, being from Minnesota, he hates winters and wants to stay somewhere warm, as long as he can?

Just because he doesn't pick us doesn't mean he is getting paid.

As much as I'd like to believe those things I would put it at about 90% that if he goes there it is for some under the table deal.

Now point to where I said he wasn't going anywhere because we had him locked up in a 10 year contract? In 10-15 years could he leave? Maybe. He's happy here and he's building some real momentum with this program. He has no reason to leave at this point.

I'm getting sick of that argument. The dude is a bust plain and simple and the GM that drafted him got fired. If I was a GM and I drafted some random player from Alabama State first overall just because, does that mean Alabama State is suddenly a high profile place for all the one and done recruits? No, it makes me an idiot and a horrible GM. Obviously Bennett is a different case then that. He was projected somewhere from 7-10 IIRC. The fact that the GM who drafted him is no longer employed should say something about that.
