Lets chill on the “he was a bad teammate” comments. He was the only one last year that would try getting teammates up when they were on the ground and was seen multiple time on camera getting on younger guys for not knowing to help a teammate up who was literally down.

He may not have fit into TJs plans, but if his teammates didn’t like him, it’s because he (rightfully so) was embarrassed of the culture and selfish play of his teammates last year and called a spade a spade. And there is no one on this years roster but Jackson (hardly plays) and Walker (hardly plays) who can speak to his ability to be a teammate.

Should also give some guys the benefit of the doubt. Being on a team like that has to take a serious toll on you mentally. It’d be hard to stay engaged and positive 100% of the time.

I think its as simple as stay at ISU and commit to balls out on D, or go elsewhere and score points. He chose the latter, and i think that sas the right call for him. He is a scorer, thats who he is.
Any unhappiness anyone has about his time here, you can put 1% of than on Raz and 99% on CSP. His use and development of Raz, yet another instance of coaching malpractice.

According to the article, the wrist injury caused him quite a few issues.

I also think maybe I am the only one who read the article cause surely Few’s comments about him being an unsung hero for defending opposing team’s toughest perimeter player or the teammate who says everybody likes him would be drawing Cyclone ire by now.

Seems like a win-win situation. Watch this place explode if we make the tournament and play Gonzaga.

We probably wouldn’t have gotten Brockington if either Bolton or JCL had stayed. That should make anyone with a brain fine with them moving on.
I think this is very true. Brockington was the last guy TJ got and so glad we got him. If we had Bolton, more than likely we aren't even open to recruiting Izaiah.

Good continued luck to Rasir. Glad he is doing well.

It’s pretty sad that our best plays last year were helping teammates up off the floor.

Play at Gonzaga or play at Iowa state. Pretty easy decision.

Good for Rasir. I always thought he represented our team well.

I don't recall the wrist issue they reference in the article but it makes sense why his shooting has improved. Maybe we should have tests done on the wrists of the current roster. :jimlad:

He played fine in the two games I watched part of this year, their wins over Texas and Texas Tech. I think he banked the halftime buzzer beater against Texas.

Way up there
Rasir's only issues on the floor where upstairs, he is very skilled and athletic, he just had too much pressure on him here, he wasn't cut out for the role he was thrust into. In Spokane, he has no pressure and an easy role, made easier by being surrounded by the kind of guys he gets to play with. It's a great fit for him in a lot of ways, really happy for him, this situation worked out great for everyone involved.

Could it be mostly as simple as Rasir knowing his NBA hopes are as a PG? Hunter was coming in and doesn’t fit off the ball. Teams that suck don’t bring top 40 recruits in to be backups. Easy to say play them both or whatever, but Hunter is 100% a PG and Bolton needs to show he can run a team at the 1, and a good team at that.
I’m skeptical there was any resistance to playing defense. It’s probably more about role and resistance to playing mostly 2 I would guess. Plus let’s not act like he was leaving a tourney lock to go play at Valpo or something. If it’s your last rodeo and want to play in the tourney where are you going to go?

I haven't seen a ton of the Zags this year but from what I have Bolton was predominantly an off the ball guy.

Maybe a change of scenery sounded more appealing than committing to a rebuild after a 2-22 season and coaching change. If you take off the Cardinal colored glasses the choice is pretty clear. That’s the difference between a one year transfer and a four year player like George C.

I just appreciated how hard he worked to create offense and score points. Some of us focus only on the losses last year. However, largely thanks to Bolton, we were in lots of games toward the end. As "bad" as we were, we weren't getting blown out each game. Again, I think that is largely due to Bolton.
